- Dev Ops (Mark Jordan): No updates.
- Metadata IG (Jennifer): The Notes from the last meeting have been posted. It was a small discussion on new tools such as the Download PDF module from DGI. The Metadata Tools Subgroup is seeking input in the form of use case scenarios on how people use tools to manipulate metadata. This subgroup will also be sending out a survey soon to get a sense on what tools are being used for metadata and what type of users use these tools.
- IR interest group (Mark): This IR is discussing the minimum viable product for scholar in terms of next steps down the road. Notes.
- Security Interest Group (Will): No updates.
- August sprint
- Sprint Milestone: During this community sprint, the focus was to gain a deeper understanding of all the components and have a better notion of what should be achieved with CLAW. Going forward, Danny will distill all of these concepts discussed into one cohesive document.
- MVP: The cohesive document that will be prepared by Danny will include information on MVP. At the next meeting, the discussion will revolve around Drupal 8, Sync, Zookeeper, or Alpaca for starters. These discussions will also explore the notion of microservices in terms of what's already available and what needs to be developed.
- CLAW Calls:
- August 24: Going forward, sprint updates will be formalized for better communication with the community.
- August 31: This call focused on PCDM, sprint updates, and bringing up Zookeeper. Brian Brown brought to CLAW the beginning of discussing what the minimum viable functionality of the scholar piece as a major component of Islandora as part of the IR (interest group).
- Cross community discussion
- Fedora Tech meetings: Every Thursday, 11am EST.
- August 25: This meeting included a discussion on concurrency on eTags and Aaron Coburn's proposal on Linked Data Notifications.
- September 1: Aaron Coburn brought in another proposal for the group to see on GraphsQL.
- API-X
- September 1: The design documentation is being moved to its new GitHub repo. There should a proof of concept demo in a month or so and the committers will be keeping a close eye on the progress of this.
- Performance/Scaling
- The next meeting will be held on September 26.
- PCDM
- September 1: In the last 5-6 months, there have been a number of great discussions on how to move forward with PCDM 2.0, which were recorded in Issue #53. Because of the complexity of this issue, its separate elements has been separated into smaller components. This community will have monthly calls on the 1st Thursday of every month and anyone is welcome to join. Other discussions included levels of interoperability between Islandora CLAW, Hydra, and non Islandora/Hydra applications.
- Import/Export
- Design: Phase 1 started Monday.
- Sprint meetings: This link provides access to the sprint meetings, daily standups, and progress reports.
- fcrepo-import-export: This was created to follow updates on the repo.
- Fedora Tech meetings: Every Thursday, 11am EST.
- iCampMO: Registration stands at 32 people with room for more people.
- Islandoracon: The planning committee has come up with dates, prices, and strategies. A call to gather workshop and speaker topic ideas has been posted to the Islandora Google Group, IslandoraCon 2017 Topic Proposals. With this list of topics, the planning committee will create a survey for the community to vote on.
Diego: METRO is working on a new module that allows people to ingest through spreadsheets. The primary concern was to make the user experience easier. This module employs many concepts that will be coming later with Drupal 8 and CLAW and will be made available to the public soon. Diego is also working on how to better handle harvesting to DPLA based on records that have been deleted or updated.
