Minutes

Before the meeting got rolling, we talked a bit about food, cool mustaches, as well as the continued civil unrest in US.

1. Islandora Online dates and times

   • It was originally planned for July. Now the first session “Islandora 8” is July 21st and weekly thereafter. “Islandora & Metadata” is the following week. “Islandora & migration” is in August and is still being finalized. “Institutional Repositories in Islandora” is the fourth week.
   • Regarding IR in Islandora, putting a is more difficult because only one institution is doing this already; how will we collectively be doing IR in Islandora is still a little bit up in the air. Don Richards mentions that a document or a module that installs all of the submodules for IR would be installed. The “Islandora 8 IR Delta” document is more of the current state of things. Rosie mentioned the IR interest group. One of the main issues is that the installed defaults may not really work “out of the box” for many institutions - and that the config becomes difficult especially in the context of forked versions of that code. This discussion spun off into the topic of a default profile and configurations… content type views or based on taxonomy terms.
   • Are there more needs for topics to talk about?

2. We are speaking at Drupalcon this year :D

   • Islandora Foundation has joined the Drupal Association and it possibly helped to allow this speaking session to happen. This has great potential to gain exposure and usage of the Islandora stack.

3. Open PRs

   1. #1534 Change config permission to 'administer site configuration' #780

      • It simply changes a permission for IIIF. Needs somebody to test before closing.

   2. Add configuration for a user and password to the broker. #779

      • Jordan Dukart’s pull request. Danny said that he will push this through provided that it tests out ok.

   3. Issue 1521: Provide a way for repo admins to see RDF mappings #778

      • Mark’s feature to enhance the report. The terms in the report are clickable and link to the taxonomy. Need a volunteer to test. Rosie said she will test this.

   4. Issue 1491: Add default values for name (and alt text for images) in add media form #777

      • Another feature from Mark that removes the redundancy of that field and it should reduce the annoyance of having to type twice.

   5. Validate JWT expiry #776

      • Reported by Jonathon Hunt -- and Jared’s pull request is to handle more of the strtotime() parameters. It will need to be tested.
