Minutes

1. CLAW Release and Call to Action announcement. Documentation sprint signup. No prior experience with CLAW or programming experience is required. After this sprint, we will have a testing sprint.

   • Mark Jordan - How do we document and inform the differences between Islandora 8 vs Islandora 7. How explicit this information need to be presented in the Islandora 8 documentation?
   • Danny - Have to balance the documentation between targeting greenfield and 7.x audience?
   • Mark Jordan - Need to provide as much support as possible to make the transition from 7.x to 8.x. Need the community input regarding this.
   • Jared - It is important, but keep we need to keep the documentation separate. The main difference is the object model.
   • Danny - We will write the Islandora 8 documentation describing the features and how/to for Islandora 8. We will provide separate supplementary documentation for 7.x comparison and migration info.

2. Travis-CI acquired by Idera

   • Jonathan Green - Have some concerns about the private equity company that acquired it. May have to consider other CI options, i.e Circle CI.

3. PDF Viewer!

   • DonRichards - Need to generate derivatives related to PDF such as TN, pdf/a, pdf/ua, ocr etc.

   • Danny - If we find the tooling needed to generate these derivatives, we can include that in the derivative creation framework.

   • Jared - pandoc is a possible tool to generate the pdf/ua.

4. Issue Roundup

• typed string - https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1006:

  • Seth - Creating new field types complicates search. Recommends implementing this feature with a widget.

• claw-playbook should use PHP 7.1 - https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1007

  • Danny - We need to move it to 7.1. Though, our tests are run against 7.1, the installation is still using 7.0. We also should move it to Ubuntu 18.

• Unable to uninstall controlled_access_terms - https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1008

  • Seth - This is a feature in the core, where it does not allow fields to be easily removed. There is no programmatic way to handle this. This is a documentation issue.

• Upgrade Process - https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1011

  • Danny - We will discuss this in detail in the next meeting.
