Minutes

  1. Doing a "Hack-Doc" this year, idea is hone in on 1 or 2 ideas and have larger groups and have some ideas that less about code and more about doing other things.

    1. Writing Islandora Claw basic user documentation like this for Islandora 1.x
    2. Something along the Porcus module model
    3. Write specifications for the Islandora Scholar module for CLAW.

    So please review these ideas.

Diego: What about customize the user interface/views for people

    Bryan: Hands-on Twig theming?

Melissa: We are trying to move in a different direction. So less small group building for others, more large group with various roles around a general (ethereal??) task.

Bryan: Less specifications for Scholar, more what are the features from Scholar 1.0 to move to Scholar 2.0

    Mark: MVP for Scholar??

Bryan: Yes I actually have a Scholar MVP and I want people to provide input https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pFpL1PK1Tk3FSini2nZeDajw8PyXnh-2xBNOnM6fbvM/edit

Melissa: We have 20 people signed up. As a warning to the committers you will probably be split up to share the knowledge.

  2. This is to get some more information about people attending the Hackfest. It is not mandatory but can help the planning committee. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nI6_RGa8P-QOEF3xqBhNrd-2D5_ePBy6SdUuH1qNNTI/

  3. Bryan: I went through the documents and the seem to have been run through and cleaned up. Does anybody else want to volunteer to help with this?

Nat has a PR for Alpaca stuff that needs Mkdocs stuff but then can be merged.

Bryan: What I am struggling with that is I'm in the middle so I don't know what it should be but also don't know what basic information that might help people coming in. Major stumbling point for a lot seems to be RDF. Thinking about a "What are the basics terms" you need to for your first CLAW call.

Diego: perhaps Christina Harlow to help and it might benefit her to get some more exposure to CLAW.

    Bryan: I'll contact her.

Danny: This can be tricky as various people have different levels of knowledge and you can't have it all.

Bryan: I'm thinking of a guided bibliography, something to help people to know where they are and where they need to go. Otherwise you get a "Choose your own adventure" book that never ends.

Referencing the three documents linked in the agenda.

Danny: there is some good stuff in there.

Bryan: The "good" stuff should just be added to the CLAW vagrant README. I can start on moving the information from Installation Vagrant to Claw Vagrant README.
