    • Theme discussion:
    • Alexander: The starter site could do something like have an option to display a different theme, but also that is not the purpose of the starter site. Question of scope.
    • Don: Started testing and found adding a bootstrap barrio subtheme with twig templates was easy. We shouldn’t have a full customizable theme, but instead a basic subtheme available custom-made for Islandora. Might be worth exploring.
    • Rosie: A folder where we can dump twig templates may be useful to have things look more like a repository. Or maybe we need something on top of Olivero that we can dump twig templates into.
    • Don: https://github.com/jhu-idc/idc_ui_theme_boots Folder structure super simple. Took like 10 minutes. Bootstrap is maintained by developers and we could create something to piggyback on that.
    • Willow: Great starting point. We could make a Twig template for file vs. media download since that’s not included with barrio. Will ask if they can share their Born Digital theme.
    • Don: This could be the way to go–-ask the community for their themes and host them somewhere for people to use.
    • Rosie: Themes may have references to things in config. If we do a community theme thing we would want it to be as simple as possible. If we have to go in a theme direction, provide necessary css to have things work.
    • Don: Agree. Anything more can overcomplicate things for the user.
    • Adam: When switching themes you may have to redo your block placement. Things should be used directly or derived from it. Should we bother doing much or just provide a place where people can go look at other themes?
    • Rosie: There’s a module that copies block placement from old theme to new theme to map it correctly.

    • IslandoraCamp March 20-21.
    • Rosie: Show off cool stuff!
    • Willow interested in presenting a module.
