[Bug][cyber] Drone firmware version diffing blocked during reverse-engineering tooling setup (req_011CcUAc6sZFmQFqpuRBLsct) #71903

Closed as not planned

Description

@sworrl

Triage: kind cyber · domain general · severity session-halted (blocked authorized work) · reproducible: yes — server-side via the Request ID(s) below

Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): general

Why this is a false positive

The conversation involves analyzing firmware of a personally-owned consumer device to compare version differences and develop an open-source alternative — a well-established category of legitimate embedded systems research and device-owner interoperability work. No exploitation, unauthorized access, or attack techniques were discussed; the work is entirely read-only reverse engineering of software the user legally possesses. The safety classifier incorrectly matched surface-level keywords to a harmful pattern instead of evaluating the actual intent and scope of the request.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred 1× across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-06-27T17:34:04.422Z.

In-scope justification

False positive — in-scope, authorized security work; not out of scope. Filed automatically by claudit.

    This issue is not a duplicate of the issues cited above. Each cited issue represents a distinct block event tied to its own unique Request ID, which Anthropic must look up individually server-side — sharing the same class of false positive (safety filter over-blocking legitimate authorized work) does not make them the same incident. Closing this as a duplicate would discard the Request ID documented here, preventing it from being investigated or remediated. Please reopen and process each report against its own Request ID.
