Oct 8 RTVision upstream sync report

Candidate 3294a03d1bf7691c1eb870f5a4992e7084acc6d7. Signed merge a6407c4 preserves both fork and upstream parents. Signed followups restore upstream update-branch authorization and fix the two verified client findings.

Fork e187b6b. Upstream range b77108b..30cc788, 81 commits and 400 upstream paths. There are 66 fork overlap paths. PR83 merged atc7ae202f2ea8df40930a7bc9f91448885f1338a9, with the same tree9283cd035c1a64016c3d6e7df97d26aa8416e5a6 as the approved candidate. Upstream ancestry verified. Version0.0.74 is published to the RTVision registry and GitHub.

Upstream features and fixes

MCP Apps run inline on web and mobile with fullscreen support and Codex-backed operations. Agents see snooze state and link to durable thread IDs. Live rows show the latest thought; subagent effort/speed survives completion. Web rich composition adds block Markdown, code blocks, structural clipboard handling and quote annotations. Native diff search includes folded and unchanged lines. Desktop gains install/remove of its bundled t3 command. Mobile adopts v5 native navigation and iPad columns, and redesigns Add environment.

Correctness fixes cover refused/duplicate Claude prompts, background subagent visibility, Claude Haiku5.5 and 1M context, runtime thread unload, rolled-back-message races, held scheduled wakes, squash/terminal worktree cleanup, hidden untracked files and Windows long paths. GitHub APIs use shared variable-based pagination and actual response quotas. Indexed command replay/long-thread snapshots, compact transport, batched highlighters, hidden-screen timers/cache reuse and Git refresh changes reduce stalls and duplicate traffic. Web PR panels, onboarding/type-to-focus, citations/icons/links and responsive layout get fixes; desktop child-frame sign-in/captcha resumes correctly.

Replacements and retained fork behavior

Upstream replaces the fork diff matcher/panel; Vim uses the upstream search with a small repeat adapter. Upstream replaces GitHub CLI-named services, local quota accounting and pager duplication; exact-host/repository checkout and fork CI/viewed/dependency behavior move into the new API/provider. Upstream replaces the old mobile Screens patch with its versioned v5 native archive and richer navigation. The release lock keeps that dependency graph plus fork language support and the combined Pierre hash.

Retained behavior includes Gitea/Forgejo, granular reactions/dependencies/viewed files/CI and destination grants, SSH/WSL runner and user selection, terminal editors, fork registry/update routing, Node/npm/OpenRC legacy service paths, Alpine/musl node-pty support, installer packaging, low-disk behavior, and grammar support. No verified upstream equivalent replaces those features.

Verified findings addressed

  • Register MCP Apps methods in destination command permission policy, sample live permissions in web/mobile host availability, and recheck after tool metadata before approval. Read-only resource access remains usable; revoked mutations are refused before dispatch.

  • Preserve distinct source/collapsed code-fence opening lengths so mention tokens in an info string do not move the restored rich-composer caret into the wrong block.

  • Restore upstream update-branch authorization so allowed ordinary GitHub updates succeed; the new service regression also verifies that freshly revoked access prevents mutation.

  • Bind idle-thread unloads and state updates to their originating runtime and cancel all timers on release. A TestClock regression fails before the fix and passes after, proving the replacement gets its own full interval.

  • Windows launcher status no longer promises precedence over existing commands; expose the absolute launcher path.

  • Preserve null-rollup CI access, remove the revived stack heuristic, unfold search results with path-keyed state, and leave Safari IME confirmation to the search input.

Checks, review receipts, and publication

Primary SOURCE GO and completed independent GPT-6 Astra backend r4, client r4, and release r5 SOURCE GO all name candidate 3294a03d1bf7691c1eb870f5a4992e7084acc6d7. No unresolved source objections or PR review threads remain. The merged head c7ae202f2ea8df40930a7bc9f91448885f1338a9 has the same source tree 9283cd035c1a64016c3d6e7df97d26aa8416e5a6 and preserves pinned upstream ancestry. CodeRabbit explicitly skipped 411 files against its 100-file limit, verified at #83 (comment). The maintainer-authorized large-diff primary/Astra fallback was used.

Focused regressions failed before the fixes and passed after them. The final client run passed 276 tests plus 168 related composer tests, scoped contracts/client-runtime/web/mobile typechecks, lint, formatting, and diff whitespace. Earlier source receipts include 245 PR service/provider, 404 additional backend, 219 provider, 504 composer/shared-runtime, and 48 client-finding tests, plus focused checkout/GitHub/mobile tests. Final candidate CI passed in37753411047; native fingerprint37753522724 superseded its cancelled duplicate. The exact-SHA transfer report passed all ceilings. Merged-head CI37757525926 and release build37757525932 passed, respectively all17 and all6 jobs.

Independent Astra artifact SOURCE/STRUCTURE GO verified all11 immutable release assets, every SHA256SUMS entry, updater version/size/SHA512, npm/CLI layouts and executable formats, installer/ASAR payloads, and byte-identical embedded WSL archive/helpers. Both a clean exact-tarball install and a second fresh registry install using the actual legacy t3 npm alias passed on Alpine with Node24.18.1. Installed package bytes matched the tarball; CLI version, launcher syntax, normal and legacy service preflight, and real node-pty execution passed. No live userdata or service was used.

Registry version/latest0.0.74 and SHA512 integrity sha512-iFGtGo9dXs+McwWZEoeHOYGTyoUbZgQWn3gMXjS5jH22FJwn25KY/XtOMN35inrMIB52uN5BsXWirxWG95Wa7g== were verified, and downloaded registry bytes matched the asset. GitHub draft was published last, at2026-10-08T10:09:43Z: https://github.com/RTVision/t3code/releases/tag/v0.0.74. Public readback verified exact merged tag/head, latest routing, all11 unchanged asset identities/digests, registry integrity/bytes, and the untouched older0.0.71 draft. No gate remains pending for this release.

Known inherited limits remain documented: the npm Linux resource monitor has mode0644 and is glibc-only, so npm native resource telemetry is unavailable, including on Alpine. The existing optional OpenCode client Effect peer declaration makes npm ls report a metadata mismatch; the patched runtime is bundled, no external client import remains, and required runtime checks pass. These are explicit advisories, not claims that all telemetry/dependency metadata passes. Desktop/native UI, WSL/SSH runtime interaction, and live deployment were not exercised; desktop installers are unsigned. No live restart or deployment occurred.

Daily task remains enabled at03:00 scheduler-local time, with the authorized Astra fallback and recurring publication gates. Next run2026-10-09T08:00:00Z. Current upstream has advanced to9381533771ef50d58304f79fac2b74ebd8932be7; that later range belongs to the next pinned sync, rather than expanding this approved release.
