What: Remote delegated jobs retain their original result while observing later work, with source-only inspection and durable Stop.
Why: The original follower ended at the first result, and ordinary interactive authority could not stop later destination work once the parent had stopped.
So what: This internal #381 component targets feat/379-cross-machine-parity; the parent owns both fresh exact-candidate reviews, CI acceptance, integration and real client/provider acceptance.

Related #381 and parent #379. Approved frozen v5 contract and design. The canonical implementation/proof handoff records selected authority decisions, retained red/green evidence, exact checks, compatibility boundaries, ownership and limits. This PR does not close #381 or establish final #379 acceptance.

Typed operations extend the authenticated pair/control path. Destination persisted terminal events supply ordered replay, acknowledgement, bounded pages and truthful nested/queued/recovery state. Source reconciliation preserves original task results, qualifies actual original/latest real runs, and uses existing completion/question/delivery owners. New negotiated jobs can be inspected through the source connection from web, desktop and mobile; unmarked #380 jobs retain their original read/wait/direct-navigation behavior.

Stop persists an exact source obligation, executes the existing native destination Stop owner with a stable command, and distinguishes acceptance from settled effects. Only this named operation tolerates the parent run ending because of Stop. Current grants, original generation, frozen/all-contributor ceilings and actual destination/descendant checks remain enforced through native claim/retry and each B-to-C hop. Replays reconcile committed receipts without stopping later independent work.

The only #382 ownership exception is three added lines in PeerForwarding.ts: an optional expectedLinkIdentity argument passed through the existing forwarding owner. No request namespace rewrite, private attachment/receipt implementation, scheduler/Spectrum work or speculative consumer hooks.

R1 corrections: historical Stop request identity and semantics are accepted under the parent dispatch lock against durable event history, so old receipt retries cannot displace a newer obligation. Transcript, notification, background-banner and inspector opens now select the negotiated source viewer before considering B's connection; mobile notification opens follow the same guard. Local and unmarked legacy navigation are preserved. Both complete original R1 REQUEST_CHANGES findings and author responses are retained in the handoff; fresh exact-candidate reviews remain required.

R3 corrections: an already accepted Stop now reconciles normal null-to-child attachment only when the original launch identity and authenticated registered return pair prove that child and generation. Historical reason/task/environment/generation/launch fences and newer-obligation preservation remain. Local callback arity is restored without weakening the established MessagesTimeline assertion. Newly issued session expiry is capped at the existing year-9999 sentinel under the explicitly authorized SessionStore ownership exception; #389 remains open. No existing session rows or date predicates are rewritten.

R3 historical proof and material limit: deterministic S2 and real issuance red/green pass, full MessagesTimeline89 and source-view20 pass, all43 authority workflows including original-session destination-reader reconstruction pass, and all29 SessionStore cases pass. Both current combined eight-file commands finished228 passed/1 failed out of229, each failing a different RemoteDelegation case at INITIAL peer discovery before its behavior; cause remains unknown. An unchanged isolated case and diagnostic full RemoteDelegation39 run pass. These are scoped passes across runs, NOT a combined229-test green run or CI acceptance. Affected server/web types, scoped lint/format/knip and postcommit fork check pass. Every exact command/result, initial reviewer404 unknown, both full R2 reviews, historical R1 records/responses and limits are in the current handoff.

Actual browser/desktop/mobile behavior, before/after images, real provider process death and multi-machine topology are unverified here and reserved for the parent after integration. Registered transport/SQLite/native-effect tests use deterministic external runtime adapters. No product server, device, live userdata, release or version bump. The automatic Agent Observer summary reports estimated cost unknown; no manual price estimate is supplied.

Requirements and who asked: Parent-approved frozen #379/#381 outcome and explicit lifecycle, durable Stop and compatibility decisions.
Deleted: Generic reverse RPC, duplicate orchestration, public capability assertions, rival namespace, speculative #382/#384 hooks and raw-mode privileges.
Bottleneck: Exact persisted Stop authority after the originating parent ends, including native recovery and destination-local descendant propagation.
Checked myself: Complete authored diff/callers self-review, retained registered/persisted failing-before evidence, final affected tests/types/lint/knip/format/fork checks; independent and live acceptance remain parent-owned.

Implementation: gpt-6.1-sol, MEDIUM reasoning, Codex harness in T3 Code.

R4 corrects the production composition found during parent actual client acceptance: RuntimeLayer exports its existing effect outbox; server.ts requires construction of the lifecycle service; transport consumes it and advertises version1 only when present. The production-kernel regression no longer injects the missing outbox and covers authenticated registered native delegation/attachment/source view plus persisted Stop pending-to-settled and native effect drain. Existing auth and authority policies stay unchanged.

Current proof: runtime/HTTP105 pass; authority workflows44, orchestration7 and native-cancel1 pass. The four-file lifecycle selection is FAILED90/91 because one RemoteDelegation initial link returned not_a_t3_environment before delegation; cause remains unknown. Unchanged standalone RemoteDelegation39 and final production-kernel native regression pass. Server types, five-file lint/format, server knip and postcommit fork check pass. These are scoped results, not full CI or actual product runtime acceptance.

Current review candidate: 00313067e47a64f1a39ffbbb83ec7fb3e74f601b, tree 305d63ed38070ac5b0f382e603eec11425118cf0, base ac4ce6bfdc323d7eeaa53e8888f68bc4ef10ba29. Clean push verified. Complete R4 handoff retains exact commands/results, parent runtime counterexample, BOTH WHOLE R3 reviews and mandatory prior R1/R2 full findings/responses/authority records. Both R3 approvals and old CI are historical. Parent owns BOTH fresh exact-candidate MEDIUM reviews, current CI, actual product client/provider proof and final acceptance. No merge/close/shipment claim.

What: Sol MEDIUM R1 verdict is REQUEST_CHANGES for the exact #381 candidate, with one blocking Stop replay finding.
Why: Retrying an older source Stop can replace a newer pending obligation, so receipt reconciliation leaves the newer requested work running.
So what: The parent must adjudicate this finding and obtain both required independent exact-candidate reviews after correction; this comment does not set the aggregate review status.

Reviewer: Codex harness, actual runtime gpt-6.1-sol, reasoning effort medium, verified from the supplied runtime at review start. No model fallback, delegation, or previous #380 approval transfer.

Exact reviewed identity:

  • Base: ac4ce6bfdc323d7eeaa53e8888f68bc4ef10ba29.

  • Git and live PR identity verified; PR remains open against feat/379-cross-machine-parity.

Blocking finding S1: P1, preserve newer Stop obligations when replaying an older request

Location: RemoteDelegation.ts:1019-1038, requestStop.

The idempotency check recognizes a request only when its identity equals the single current remoteChild.stop.requestId. Once another deliberate Stop replaces that field, retrying the older identity takes the new-request branch and persists it as the current pending Stop. The follower then reconciles the older destination receipt correctly, but the newer Stop has disappeared from the only state the follower and startup recovery consume.

Reproduction through the actual source service used by remoteTasks.stop, registered launch/authenticated peer transport, isolated persisted source/destination records, and native Stop receipts:

  1. Accept Stop client-stop:reviewer-first at B and retain its native command receipt.
  2. Start later independent work on the same B child. Replaying the first destination receipt correctly leaves this work running.
  3. Record a new deliberate source Stop client-stop:reviewer-newer-deliberate-stop while observation is disconnected.
  4. Retry the first source request with the same original semantics, then reconstruct/start the source follower.
  5. Expected: reconcile the first request without replacing the newer pending Stop. Actual persisted state becomes the first request with state: acknowledged and its old destination command; the later B run remains running. The newer Stop is no longer actionable by the follower or its restart query.

This is a normal delayed/lost-response retry, not a request to stop the later work with the old identity. It can silently lose a deliberate cancellation of later remote/nested work. The source must retain/reconcile historical request identities without replacing a newer obligation, and bind semantics durably at its serialized acceptance boundary. A related source probe also demonstrates that changing an older request's reason after a newer Stop succeeds and overwrites the newer intent instead of rejecting the semantic conflict. Destination conflict checks do not repair this source-state loss.

Independent retained reproductions, only in reviewer-owned /private/tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r1:

  • /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r1-replay-probe3.patch and /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r1-replay-displaces-stop3.log: original registered control fixture extended with source requestStop calls using the client Stop key format, real receipt replay and reconstructed follower; one intended assertion failure, 41 skipped, 6.16s. Logged actual first-key acknowledgement and later-run running state.
  • /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r1-semantic-probe.patch and /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r1-historical-stop2.log: source-service historical changed-reason probe, one intended assertion failure; logged newer pending intent replaced by the conflicting older identity with a successful source receipt.
  • Reproduce the retained current probe from that worktree with ./node_modules/.bin/vp test run apps/server/src/peer/PeerAuthority.workflow.test.ts -t 'durable stopped-parent control denies' --reporter=verbose.

Coverage and limits

Read the cumulative 50-file component diff, surrounding authority/Stop/completion consumers, current full #379/#381 bodies/comments and frozen v5 decisions, complete canonical handoff, precise forwarding ownership exception, durable ended-parent Stop decision, and #380 audit/matrix/adjudication. Checked the retained original parent-Stop, terminal-commit paging and source-conflict red evidence. The three-line PeerForwarding exception is respected; no #382 namespace/attachment or #384 private implementation was added. Settled trust/resource-scope decisions are not reopened.

Independently ran the candidate's original four-file focused selection: pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/peer/PeerAuthority.workflow.test.ts apps/server/src/peer/RemoteDelegation.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RemoteDelegatedTask.test.ts packages/client-runtime/src/state/remoteTasks.test.ts --reporter=verbose: 4 files, 89 tests passed, 65.66s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r1-tests.log. The loaded original test modules ran separately from the added reviewer probes. This includes all 42 authority workflows, first result plus two continuations, terminal-commit result paging, Stop after A ends, native A-to-B-to-C recovery, mode/resource/contributor denials, legacy import/mixed-version behavior and guarded source-only query selection. git diff --check base head also passed. Dependency preparation occurred only in the reviewer-owned worktree.

The probes change only a test file in that detached worktree. Production source stays at the exact candidate. Planner/author/canonical source workspaces were not modified. All logs and patches are retained locally; no fix, merge, dependency clearance, Issue closure, build, install or shipment was performed. No final GitHub review or review/independent status was posted, as requested.

Source-reviewed web/desktop shared and mobile viewer/navigation/guarded Stop integration. Did not drive clients, browser/device UI, live provider processes, live userdata or actual multi-machine topology. Deterministic provider-boundary and effect-worker evidence does not prove live provider interruption. Did not run full CI, broad repository checks, or independently rerun the author's type/lint/knip/native-cancel selections. Those reported runs remain author evidence; actual client/provider/topology acceptance and current aggregate review/CI belong to the parent. #369 response policy, #382 attachments/namespace and #384 autonomy remain future slices.

Requirements and who asked: User/parent required this independent exact-candidate MEDIUM read-only #381 review under frozen #379, preserving accepted R1-R8 regressions and both-reviewer coverage.
Deleted: Historical approval transfer, speculative future-slice hooks, extra reviewers, author-workspace writes, live acceptance claims and aggregate status publication.
Bottleneck: Source-side historical Stop replay can erase the current durable cancellation obligation despite correct destination receipt deduplication.
Checked myself: Exact Git/live PR identity, cumulative source/test diff, current authority decisions, 89 original focused passes and two discriminating persisted source replay failures with retained patches/logs.

What: Request changes on exact head e8fad669968814d216542e2fbcd79d8e970df990. A negotiated lifecycle job still opens on the destination from the transcript, the notification button, and the background banner.

Why: Those clicks navigate to B whenever this client is connected there. Only the relationships panel and the mobile agents sheet use the source viewer.

So what: Parent relays this REQUEST_CHANGES with the other exact-candidate review. The implementer should send those three opens through the source viewer when lifecycleVersion is 1. This reviewer does not post success, merge, or change the code.

Verdict: REQUEST_CHANGES

Reviewer: installed Grok 4.7, reasoning effort medium (thread configuration grok / grok-4.7 / medium). No model substitution.

Identity verified read-only in the author worktree, no checkout:

Finding

Blocking. Source-only inspection is skipped on three open paths for lifecycleVersion === 1.

hasSourceRemoteTaskView (packages/client-runtime/src/state/remoteTasks.ts lines 21-29) is the negotiated-job guard. It is used by ThreadRelationshipsControl.tsx (lines 649-657 and 708-716) and apps/mobile/src/features/threads/thread-subagent-group.tsx (lines 198-201) and ThreadAgentsSheet.tsx. These three surfaces do not use it:

  1. Transcript work-log row. SubagentTimelineLink in apps/web/src/components/chat/V2LifecycleRow.tsx lines 462-465 hides the link only when this client is not connected to the child environment. Lines 547-550 then call onOpenThread(threadId, childEnvironmentId). ChatView.tsx lines 7316-7322 implements that as navigate to /$environmentId/$threadId on B. ChatView.tsx line 11248 passes that callback into the work log.
  2. Notification action. NotificationSubagentOpenButton in the same file, lines 404-416, returns null when B is disconnected and otherwise calls onOpenThread(target.threadId, target.environmentId).
  3. Settled-parent background banner. withPendingDelegatedChildWork in apps/server/src/childThreads/delegatedFollowups.ts lines 184-203 copies remoteChild.threadId into childThreadId and sets childEnvironmentId, with no lifecycle check. ChatView.tsx lines 7498-7518 turns that into the same destination navigation when B is connected.

Reproduction, from the source (this review did not click the UI; parent owns browser acceptance):

  • Negotiate a lifecycle version 1 task from A to linked environment B, with this client also connected to B.
  • On A's transcript, activate the subagent work-log row, or "Open subagent" on its notification. The route is B's thread, not remoteTasks.view on A.
  • Let A's run settle while B is still working. The composer background banner's subagent control takes the same route.
  • Disconnect from B and the work-log row and notification button become inert. They do not open the source viewer. The relationships panel still does.

Impact: a connected client reads and can act on B's thread outside the immutable source projection, qualified provenance, and durable source Stop. Unmarked #380 jobs are supposed to keep direct navigation. Negotiated jobs are not. The new pending-work roster makes the banner path apply to continued v1 observation, which is the case this change exists to show.

Coverage inspected

Server seams, read at the exact tree: destination stop command id and semantic conflict before dispatch; existing thread.stop receipt short-circuit; authorizeTaskStop descendant capture and peerEffectAuthority fail-closed die for an effect outside recorded targets; delegated-tasks.stop calling stopDelegatedTasks under the provided stop authority; run.interrupt attaching that effect when holdQueue is true; contributor intersection of creation plus latest run owner on the stop validate frame; command-receipt replay of delegated_task.remote.request returning stored events so an unmarked launch is not rewritten; launchPending reading the stored launch; GET /mcp/peer-control/tasks behind bearer middleware; remoteTasks.stop / remoteTasks.view RPC scopes and default deny; result paging bound to the terminal command sequence; late result after parent Stop leaving task.result and completion delivery unchanged in the workflow test; nested stop staying unconfirmed while a descendant is still running.

Client seams: relationships panel and mobile agents sheet source-viewer branches; web and mobile viewer components; the three open paths above.

Retained worker logs opened, not re-executed by this review:

  • /tmp/chromeria-381-lifecycle-final8.log: 3 files, 88 passed, including the A-to-B-to-C fixture. Recorded command ids peer-task-stop:ad4c0fee741caa1a5a1f4d8367681f1192b2e006afea669cb2ffa77b227a2a09 and peer-task-stop:6f2e1525dccf75d13dc4bd69fd350ccef10f3594a3ea691d159f9862cfb1cfc2, both delegated-tasks.stop effects succeeded.
  • /tmp/chromeria-381-native-final2.log: 1 passed. /tmp/chromeria-381-client-final3.log: 6 files, 71 passed. /tmp/chromeria-381-fork-final2.log: fork-check OK.
  • Failing-before logs match the handoff claims: mutable result page returned Late changed original text (/tmp/chromeria-381-mutable-result-red2.log); same-request reason change returned Success (/tmp/chromeria-381-source-stop-conflict-red.log).

Historical #380 R1-R8 workflow tests remain in that 88-test file. No new authority hole found on the stop, replay, generation, or actual-target paths that those tests cover. Rejected descendant-environment and hostile-pair designs were not reopened.

Limits

This review did not re-run the suite, did not open a browser, simulator, or device, and did not treat the deterministic stop adapter as live provider death. CI, both-reviewer aggregation, and multi-machine acceptance stay with the parent. A descendant created after authorizeTaskStop records targets fails closed (Effect.die) rather than confirming; that race was not executed here.

What: Sol MEDIUM R2 verdict is REQUEST_CHANGES on exact head 88336f1041a31da49e9114703e514c8b185ba8d8, with one new P2 cancellation-replay finding.
Why: The new historical identity check treats normal attachment of an already accepted remote launch as a change to the cancellation's semantics.
So what: Parent must adjudicate this finding and aggregate BOTH fresh exact-candidate reviews; this comment does not publish aggregate independent-review status or authorize integration.

Reviewer: Codex harness, actual runtime gpt-6.1-sol, reasoning effort medium, verified from the supplied runtime at review start. No fallback, additional delegation, R1 verdict transfer, or historical #380 approval transfer.

Exact reviewed identity, checked against local Git and live PR #392:

  • Component base and merge-base: ac4ce6bfdc323d7eeaa53e8888f68bc4ef10ba29.
  • Head: 88336f1041a31da49e9114703e514c8b185ba8d8.
  • Tree: 5d0b948bec46f3b72f3650bbcf2365cfc271040a.
  • PR remains OPEN against feat/379-cross-machine-parity; author workspace was clean and exact at both identity checks.

Required correction S2: P2, preserve cancellation replay across normal launch attachment

Location: Orchestrator.ts:7847-7857, especially the prior[0].thread_id !== (remote.threadId ?? null) comparison at line 7851.

A cancellation can lawfully be accepted after the remote launch was sent, while its accepted reply is delayed and the source has not attached remoteChild.threadId yet. Its first durable Stop event therefore has a null thread target. When the original launch reply arrives, the existing attachment owner fills in the real child ID while preserving the Stop. A subsequent retry of the identical cancellation reads the first event, compares its null target with the now attached child ID, and rejects with conflicting semantics. Neither the caller's reason, request identity, task, environment nor grant generation changed.

Independent reproduction through registered native MCP delegate_task and task_cancel, real authenticated peer transport, on-disk isolated SQLite, and the production source command/history/attachment owners:

  1. Let B accept A's remote launch; hold only the successful launch response on its way back to A.
  2. On A, call task_cancel with a fixed client request key. It succeeds and records the pending Stop while the child ID is still absent.
  3. Retry the same cancellation before releasing the launch response. It succeeds.
  4. Release the accepted response and await the real source attachment event.
  5. Retry the same cancellation using the SAME issued native credential and request key, with the same absent reason.
  6. Expected: return/reconcile the already accepted cancellation without a new intent or semantic conflict. Actual: isError: true, code: orchestration_error, message: Unable to persist the delegated lifecycle observation.

The retained source-event query shows that the same Stop request first has a null target and later has the accepted child ID. The assertion fails at the final public retry, after the positive before-attachment retry and actual attachment assertions have passed. Production source remains at the exact candidate. This does not demonstrate that the original Stop is lost or that an additional native Stop runs; the demonstrated defect is permanent false rejection of a lawful retry after normal launch recovery. It also affects the shared source owner used by remoteTasks.stop.

Keep the durable historical replay protection, semantic-conflict rejection and generation fence. Completing the original accepted launch must remain a valid transition for an already accepted cancellation identity.

Retained independent evidence:

  • Reviewer workspace: /private/tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r2-88336f1.
  • /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r2-registered-attach.patch, applied only to its workflow test, adds response-boundary fault injection and the public-path probe. Reproduce after applying it with pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/peer/PeerAuthority.workflow.test.ts -t 'review R2: same public cancellation' --reporter=verbose.
  • /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r2-registered-attach2.log: 1 intended failure, 42 skipped, 6.00s. Repeated with the persisted target-history observation: /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r2-registered-attach3.log, 1 intended failure, 42 skipped, 6.36s.
  • A separate source-service probe extending the existing real-launch-receipt recovery fixture also failed in both cancellation variants: /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r2-preattach.patch and ...-preattach.log, 2 intended failures, 2 positive non-cancellation passes, 35 skipped. Its destination lifecycle endpoint is a fixture, so the registered production-peer reproduction above is the stronger evidence.
  • An initial public-path experiment rotated native credentials between calls and therefore did not replay the same internal Stop identity. It passed and is retained as ...-registered-attach.log; it is not evidence against S2. The discriminating repetitions deliberately reuse one credential, avoiding the separately owned feat(peer): transfer attachments and make remote retries preserve operation identity #382 namespace/credential-rotation work.

R1 repair assessment and cumulative coverage

Read the full current #379 and #381 bodies/comments, frozen-v5 contract and proof limits, original and superseding handoffs, both unchanged R1 reviews and author responses, parent adjudication, precise forwarding ownership exception and ended-parent Stop decision. Also read #380's complete final audit, matrix and rejected-design adjudication. Reviewed the cumulative 57-file component diff plus the R2 repair diff and surrounding consumers.

S1's older-Stop/newer-obligation scenario is repaired in the exercised scope: history lookup and accepted commit run under the existing parent command lock, historical replay returns without disposing/replacing current intent, changed historical reason rejects, late disposition updates must match the current request, and startup reconstruction retains the newer Stop. The registered fixture exercises concurrent new Stop submissions plus an old replay, internal owner replay, reconstruction, a distinct destination receipt, native effect drain and persisted confirmed state. S2 covers the newly introduced untested transition from an unresolved to an attached target.

G1's three reported web/desktop paths now select the source viewer before destination-profile availability. Traced actual transcript/notification consumers and ChatView's banner through the new shared action, plus the item inspector, relationships panel, mobile work-log notification, task group and agents sheet. The 20 web interaction cases click real consuming components, mount the real viewer and observe source-addressed queries/content, with B connected and disconnected; local and unmarked legacy navigation controls remain. UI primitives/query results are substituted, so these are meaningful component/data-routing tests with limited scope. Item-inspector and mobile routing were source-reviewed, not independently interaction-tested here.

Checked native Stop owner/receipt dedupe, source durable intent validation, per-hop inherited Stop authority, creation/latest-input contributor conjunction, actual destination/descendant resource and mode checks, claim/retry fences, generation/revocation denial, immutable terminal-COMMIT result paging, legacy persisted import and negotiated marker selection, ordered result delivery and late-result suppression. PeerForwarding.ts remains exactly the approved three added lines, with no R2 changes. No #382 attachment/namespace or #384 private scheduler/check/Spectrum implementation was added. Settled explicit-grant and cooperative-server trust decisions were not reopened.

Independently executed proof and limits

Dependency preparation and test writes occurred only in the fresh detached reviewer workspace. Retained probe patches/logs, then restored both test files byte-for-byte from the candidate before the unchanged workflow rerun; the review worktree is clean. No author/planner/canonical source writes, checkout/switch/pull/rebase/reset, product server, browser, device, live userdata, provider process or deployment operations.

Initial exact-candidate command:

pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/peer/PeerAuthority.workflow.test.ts apps/server/src/peer/RemoteDelegation.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RemoteDelegatedTask.test.ts packages/client-runtime/src/state/remoteTasks.test.ts apps/web/src/components/chat/V2LifecycleRow.remote.test.tsx apps/server/src/mcp/TaskCancelNativeSubagent.integration.test.ts --reporter=verbose

Result: 109 passed, 1 failed, 6 files, 63.95s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r2-tests.log. The failure was Native initialization failed: 404 in accepted active restart-only input preserves contributor authority, before that native operation. Unchanged isolated rerun passed, 1 passed / 41 skipped, 6.23s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r2-restart-isolated.log. Cause remains unknown; this is not classified as proven environmental or erased from the record.

Unchanged full workflow rerun: 42 passed, 1 file, 64.18s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r2-workflow-repeat.log. Thus all 110 selected original cases eventually passed across the initial run and unchanged reruns; the initial six-file run itself was not green.

The candidate's original suites and reviewer probes are reported separately. The original six-file run includes the repaired S1 fixture, all 39 RemoteDelegation cases, seven orchestration cases, source-only query/guard test, 20 web consumer cases and native cancellation integration. git diff --check base head passes. Opened retained author red logs and inspected their decisive assertions for historical Stop replacement, source-navigation bypass, real-parent Stop ordering and mutable-result paging; these remain author/historical evidence, not newly executed baseline runs by this reviewer.

No independent full CI, type/lint/knip run or actual browser/desktop/mobile/provider/multi-machine acceptance is claimed. A deterministic effect executor and persisted interrupted run do not prove live provider process death. Old-head CI39067969610 is historical. Parent owns current CI, both-reviewer aggregation, integration and actual client/provider/topology acceptance. #369 response policy, #382 and #384 remain their assigned later slices. No final GitHub review, aggregate review/independent status, fix, merge, edge clearance, Issue closure or shipment was performed.

Requirements and who asked: User/parent requires a fresh independent Sol MEDIUM exact-candidate #381 R2 review of the complete component, both accepted R1 repairs, retained authority regressions and frozen-v5 proof limits.
Deleted: Prior-verdict transfer, extra delegation, author-workspace writes, helper-only acceptance, rotated-credential false replay proof and aggregate-status publication.
Bottleneck: The new source historical binding confuses normal delayed launch attachment with changed cancellation semantics.
Checked myself: Exact Git/live PR identity, cumulative component and repair consumers, original six-file run plus isolated/workflow reruns, accepted S1/G1 exercised paths, and repeated registered same-credential cancellation-replay failures with retained source-event history and patches.

What: Approve exact head 88336f1041a31da49e9114703e514c8b185ba8d8. Historical Stop replay keeps the newer obligation, and negotiated task opens select the source viewer.
Why: The source decision now lives under the parent command lock, and the transcript, notification, and background consumers call that viewer before any destination route.
So what: The parent aggregates both new reviews and owns current CI plus actual client, provider, and machine acceptance. This comment does not set review/independent.

Verdict: APPROVE

Reviewer: installed Grok 4.7, reasoning effort medium. Session record current_model_id grok-4.7, reasoning_effort medium. No model substitution and no further delegation.

Exact reviewed identity, read-only in the author worktree and confirmed on the live PR:

  • Base ac4ce6bfdc323d7eeaa53e8888f68bc4ef10ba29 is the merge-base of HEAD.
  • Head 88336f1041a31da49e9114703e514c8b185ba8d8, tree 5d0b948bec46f3b72f3650bbcf2365cfc271040a.
  • PR feat(peer): continue remote delegated jobs and stop later work #392 is open against feat/379-cross-machine-parity, live headRefOid matches. Author worktree /Users/rocky/.t3/worktrees/chromeria/feat-381-remote-task-lifecycle is clean on that head.
  • Repair commit 88336f1041 is a child of historical e8fad669968814d216542e2fbcd79d8e970df990. R2 changes eleven paths. PeerForwarding.ts has no R2 diff. Its cumulative diff remains the approved three-line optional expectedLinkIdentity pass-through. No attachment, namespace, scheduler, or Spectrum files are in the cumulative diff.

No blocking finding.

S1, cleared

requestStop in apps/server/src/peer/RemoteDelegation.ts (lines 998-1034) no longer treats "equals the current projection request id" as the only replay. Every call goes through delegated_task.remote.observe. While command.stop.state === "pending", dispatchRemoteObservation in apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Orchestrator.ts (lines 7835-7860) reads the first subagent.updated event for that parent, task, and request id. A semantic mismatch of reason, environment, thread, or link generation fails the command before any new event. A match returns without an event, so a newer Stop stays the projection. commandThreadId maps this command to parentThreadId (line 564), and dispatchWithReceipt holds threadDispatch.withLock around that read and the event or receipt commit (lines 12761-12766).

The registered control fixture now drives this through the source service, then through a direct delegated_task.remote.observe, then through a restarted follower. lifecycle381: durable stopped-parent control denies forged intent and mode escalation and replays a lost Stop without stopping later work passed in this run (576ms). It submits the newer Stop twice together with the old request while disconnected, checks the persisted Stop is unchanged by a later old requestStop and by a direct owner replay, rejects a changed historical reason, reconnects RemoteDelegation.start, requires an acknowledged Stop2 whose destination command id differs from the earlier receipt, drains native stop effects, requires the later B run to be interrupted, requires a confirmed Stop2 event, and requires exactly one pending Stop2 row.

G1, cleared

useSubagentOpen (apps/web/src/components/chat/useSubagentOpen.tsx) calls hasSourceRemoteTaskView before useServerConfigs. A lifecycle version 1 task with a remote thread opens RemoteTaskViewer on the parent environment. Otherwise it keeps direct navigation when the destination is local or this client is connected. SubagentTimelineLink and NotificationSubagentOpenButton in V2LifecycleRow.tsx use that hook. BackgroundSubagentOpenButton resolves the owned task through NotificationSubagentOpenButton before the banner's destination ids can navigate. V2ItemInspector's subagent button uses the same hook. The mobile notification row in thread-work-log.tsx (press at lines 1104-1108) opens RemoteTaskViewer when the same guard matches, and otherwise keeps the existing local or connected push.

V2LifecycleRow.remote.test.tsx clicks the real transcript card, notification button, and background button. For a negotiated job, connected and disconnected, onOpenThread is not called, the recorded query is remoteTasks.view on the parent environment, and the returned text is rendered. Twelve further cases keep local navigation and connected unmarked navigation, and leave disconnected unmarked rows without a destination button. All 20 passed.

Coverage and limits

Read the R2 diff in full and the cumulative file list. Re-read the Stop dispatch lock, follower requestStop path, banner roster, relationships panel, mobile agents sheet, and subagent group. git diff --check from base to head passed. Historical #380 workflow names remain in the 42 passing workflow tests, including resource scope, queued promotion, contributor auto/steer/restart, actual-target conjunction, joint-child eligibility, webhook ceiling, and native cancel mode guards.

Independent run in detached /tmp/chromeria-381-review-grok-r2 at this exact head: pnpm exec vp test run of the six files named in the R2 handoff, verbose. 6 files, 110 tests passed, 64.27s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-grok-r2-tests.log (42 workflow, 39 remote delegation, 7 remote delegated task, 1 guarded source query, 20 web consumer, 1 native cancel). The A-to-B-to-C fixture in that log records succeeded delegated-tasks.stop effects for B command peer-task-stop:7267d19b4c690d0f5b6af991559c73620c797405234e42094a4e3d6858827844 and C command peer-task-stop:bb39522cb444702c6595d46ee2a0c54c9eac990bf686a8a0e9397017e9639156. Those are fixture identities from this run. The executor is the deterministic test adapter, so this is not live provider interruption.

Did not drive a browser, simulator, device, or live provider process, and did not exercise a real multi-machine topology. Did not click the web item inspector or the mobile notification row; those callers were read. Did not rerun typecheck, lint, knip, fork check, or GitHub CI. Prior CI on e8fad669 stays historical. #369 response policy, #382 attachments, and #384 autonomy stay future slices.

Requirements and who asked: Parent required this independent exact-candidate Grok 4.7 MEDIUM read-only R2 review under frozen #379/#381. Both R1 findings were in scope. No verdict transfers from e8fad669.
Deleted: Status publication, author or planner edits, live acceptance claims, and a second reviewer.
Bottleneck: The source lock has to accept Stop history, and each named open has to select the source viewer before destination connectivity.
Checked myself: Live PR and git identity, R2 and cumulative scope, Stop owner and open callers, and the 110-test run above.

What: Sol MEDIUM R3 verdict is APPROVE on exact head 076c6e1d8a80cc41c7603ec4bf968301a17c444b, with no supported blocking code finding in the reviewed scope.
Why: The attachment reconciliation now requires the original authenticated pair and authority owner, preserves historical Stop semantics, and the expiry and callback repairs pass their real consuming paths.
So what: Parent must aggregate BOTH fresh independent reviews and own current CI plus actual client/provider/topology acceptance; this comment does not publish aggregate independent success or authorize integration.

Reviewer: Codex harness, actual runtime gpt-6.1-sol, reasoning effort medium, verified from the supplied runtime at review start. No fallback, model substitution, additional delegation, historical verdict transfer, or second reviewer supplied by this job.

Exact identity, verified against local Git and live PR at start and again after proof:

  • Component base and merge-base: ac4ce6bfdc323d7eeaa53e8888f68bc4ef10ba29.
  • Head: 076c6e1d8a80cc41c7603ec4bf968301a17c444b.
  • Tree: 6761e5bf150fe322a83c77ae9e4d22ff1f3eae84.
  • PR feat(peer): continue remote delegated jobs and stop later work #392 remains OPEN against feat/379-cross-machine-parity. Author worktree is clean at this exact head. Repair is a child of historical 88336f1041a31da49e9114703e514c8b185ba8d8, without a rebase.

Findings and R3 assessment

No supported actionable blocking code finding.

S2, cleared in the exercised scope. dispatchRemoteObservation retains the earliest accepted Stop event under the existing parent dispatch lock. Reason, environment, generation, request namespace and original launch request key must still match; an already concrete target remains fixed. The sole target exception is null-to-concrete attachment after launch started, backed by peer_return_pairs joined to peer_authority_records. That lookup binds the owned task and parent, source audience, destination child/environment, outbound launch owner and original generation. The persisted pair is registered by authenticated control/forwarding, its task key is unique, and registerPair rejects a different owner or pair. A projection's thread ID or attachment flag alone cannot satisfy the new check; absent tables/pair fail closed. This exception does not mint execution authority or change the downstream Stop ceiling calculation.

The registered same-credential workflow passed: B accepts the launch while its successful reply is held; the same public native task_cancel key succeeds twice before attachment and again after the real child attaches. Source history contains the null and resolved targets. Reconstructed source services preserve replay, projection-corruption probes changing child/environment/generation/launch key reject without destination events, and the old request cannot replace newer Stop2. These corruption probes test the internal owner boundary; they do not claim public projection-write access.

S1 remains repaired. Historical matching replay returns before replacing or disposing the current obligation. Changed historical reason fails; late dispositions must name the current request. The original registered concurrent/newer-intent/reconstruction fixture passed, including distinct native Stop2 receipt, persisted interrupted later work and confirmed Stop2. Destination receipt replay alone leaves independent later work running.

Callback compatibility and G1 remain repaired. The shared open hook invokes local/native callbacks with exactly one argument and qualified remote callbacks with two. MessagesTimeline.test.tsx has no cumulative diff from the component base; its original assertions were retained. The complete 89-case file and all 20 source-view consumer cases passed. Negotiated transcript, notification and background opens choose A's viewer with B connected or disconnected; local and unmarked legacy controls retain their established behavior. Source-reviewed the item inspector, relationships panel, mobile notification row, task group and agents sheet. Desktop shares the web renderer. Item-inspector/mobile interaction and real UI execution were not performed here.

Necessary #389 ownership exception is respected. Only SessionStore.ts and its existing test were added to the assigned expiry repair. New issuance caps expiry at the existing year-9999 sentinel before claims and persistence use it. There is no persisted-row rewrite, migration, SQL predicate broadening, grant/scopes expansion or change to permanentSession.ts. The real stepped-clock test calculates permanent TTL, advances 1 ms, issues through SQLite, checks stored expiry/active listing/mode ceiling/peer flag, revokes and verifies rejection. Ordinary 30-day and custom short expiry controls pass. The reopened lifecycle reader still uses linkedSessions, verifies the same original authenticated grant/session before and after reconstruction, checks persisted sentinel expiry/revokedAt, then executes the reader with that session. It does not bypass inventory with invented credentials. The exact expired-at value in the historical CI failure remains unknown; the deterministic year-10000 reproduction is separate evidence.

Cumulative review coverage

Reviewed the cumulative component source/test changes and R3 repair, with surrounding registration, authority, source acceptance, attachment, native Stop/effect, result and navigation consumers. Read current #379/#381 records and frozen-v5 limits, the complete supplied original/R1/R2/R3 handoffs, BOTH full R1 and R2 reviews with responses, the forwarding/post-parent-Stop decisions, and #380's final authority audit, matrix and rejected-design adjudication. Earlier approvals are historical evidence only.

Checked original-result versus launch provenance, immutable terminal-COMMIT result paging, cursor/replay/backpressure and late-result disposal, legacy unmarked import/negotiation, stable destination Stop receipts and semantic conflict, actual authenticated pair/generation checks, typed ended-parent cleanup authority, per-hop inherited obligations, creation/latest-input contributor conjunction, current source and actual-target/descendant modes/resources, and effect claim/retry fences. Existing #380 R1-R8 workflow regressions remain in the passing workflow file. No new authority bypass was found in these inspected paths. The settled explicit-grant/cooperative-server decisions were not reopened without new evidence.

PeerForwarding.ts cumulative scope remains exactly the approved three added lines for optional expectedLinkIdentity; there is no R3 change there. No #382 namespace/attachment implementation or #384 scheduler/check/Spectrum implementation was added. #369 response policy remains later work.

Independent executed proof

Fresh exclusive detached reviewer worktree: /private/tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r3-076c6e1 (created via /tmp). Dependencies prepared there with pnpm install --offline --frozen-lockfile; no tracked changes remain. No author/planner/canonical source writes or checkout/switch/pull/reset/rebase operations.

Exact unchanged command from that worktree:

pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/peer/PeerAuthority.workflow.test.ts apps/server/src/peer/RemoteDelegation.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RemoteDelegatedTask.test.ts packages/client-runtime/src/state/remoteTasks.test.ts apps/web/src/components/chat/V2LifecycleRow.remote.test.tsx apps/server/src/mcp/TaskCancelNativeSubagent.integration.test.ts apps/server/src/auth/SessionStore.test.ts apps/web/src/components/chat/MessagesTimeline.test.tsx --reporter=verbose

Exit 0: 8 files, 229 tests passed, 65.39s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r3-tests.log. This includes all 43 authority workflows, 39 remote-delegation cases, 29 SessionStore cases, 89 MessagesTimeline cases, 20 web consumer cases, 7 remote-task orchestration cases, 1 guarded source-query case and 1 native cancellation integration. No retries or assertion/timeout changes were used in this review. git diff --check ac4ce6b 076c6e1 passes. Exact reviewer source remains clean.

Opened retained author red outputs for original restoration, real parent Stop first, mutable result paging, semantic conflict and R3 S2/expiry/callback failures. Those retain their original source identities and are not independently rerun baseline claims.

Material unresolved proof limits

The author's two unchanged eight-file combined selections remain FAILED, each 228 passed / 1 failed, not retroactively green:

  • /tmp/chromeria-381-r3-final-tests1.log: initial linkTo fails in cancel ends the task here even when the link is gone, loopback port 64884, before delegation/unlink/cancel.
  • /tmp/chromeria-381-r3-final-tests2.log: initial linkTo fails in reconciles cancel after acceptance without a launch response, port 49495, before the desired behavior.

Both report PeerLinkError, reason: not_a_t3_environment, at PeerLinks.ts:334. The actual describe path wraps descriptor HTTP/decode/timeout failures in Effect.option; retained output does not discriminate their underlying causes. Cause remains UNKNOWN. The unchanged isolated pass and private diagnostic 39-case NODE_DEBUG=undici pass do not establish a cause or erase either failed selection. My new 229-pass command is a separately identified current-source run, not a diagnosis of those failures. No speculative transport fix is requested from that incomplete evidence.

The original R2 Sol six-file run on 88336f1 remains 109 passed / 1 failed with Native initialization failed: 404; its unchanged isolated pass and 42-workflow rerun do not explain that failure. CI39069976851 failed on 88336f1; neither it nor older CI39067969610 is reused as current proof. Parent retains current CI assessment and disposition of the unresolved transport/native-initialization evidence.

No independent full CI, type/lint/knip/fork run, product server, browser, device, live userdata or provider prompts/processes. Deterministic external adapters plus real SQLite/command/event/receipt/outbox/EffectWorker paths prove their scoped observations, not live provider process death. Actual web/desktop/mobile behavior and images, devices/simulators, physical multi-machine topology/restart/upgrade and final outcome acceptance remain parent-owned. Raw transport diagnostics stay private locally and were not uploaded. No aggregate review/independent status, final GitHub review, fix, merge, edge clearance, Issue closure, install or shipment was performed.

Requirements and who asked: Parent requires a fresh independent Sol MEDIUM exact-candidate review of complete #381 plus R3 S2/callback/expiry repairs, preserving frozen-v5 authority and all prior findings/proof limits.
Deleted: Historical verdict transfer, extra delegation, projection-only attachment trust, test weakening, author-workspace writes, unsupported transport-cause attribution and aggregate-success publication.
Bottleneck: Verify lawful original attachment replay without weakening durable identity and authority, while retaining honest unresolved transport proof.
Checked myself: Exact Git/live PR identity and clean source, cumulative owners and repairs, retained decisive failures, unchanged 229-test independent pass, original callback assertions, pair/authority binding, stepped-clock persisted issuance and same-session reader reconstruction.

What: Approve exact head 076c6e1d8a80cc41c7603ec4bf968301a17c444b. Accepted Stop replay survives launch attachment, local opens stay one argument, and new permanent sessions stay inside the year-9999 sentinel.
Why: The source owner reconciles a null target only through the original authenticated launch pair, and issuance caps a new expiry before it is stored.
So what: The parent aggregates both new reviews and owns current CI, the unresolved initial-link failures, and actual client, provider, and machine acceptance. This comment does not set review/independent.

Verdict: APPROVE

Reviewer: installed Grok 4.7, reasoning effort medium. Session record current_model_id grok-4.7, reasoning_effort medium. No model substitution and no further delegation.

Exact reviewed identity, read-only against the author worktree and confirmed on the live PR:

  • Base ac4ce6bfdc323d7eeaa53e8888f68bc4ef10ba29 is the merge-base of HEAD.
  • Head 076c6e1d8a80cc41c7603ec4bf968301a17c444b, tree 6761e5bf150fe322a83c77ae9e4d22ff1f3eae84.
  • PR feat(peer): continue remote delegated jobs and stop later work #392 is open against feat/379-cross-machine-parity, live headRefOid matches. Author worktree /Users/rocky/.t3/worktrees/chromeria/feat-381-remote-task-lifecycle was clean on that head at the start and end of this review.
  • Repair commit 076c6e1d8a is a child of reviewed 88336f1041. The R3 diff is seven paths: SessionStore.ts, SessionStore.test.ts, Orchestrator.ts, PeerAuthority.workflow.test.ts, useSubagentOpen.tsx, V2LifecycleRow.remote.test.tsx, and docs/fork-features.md. PeerForwarding.ts has no R3 diff. Its cumulative diff remains the approved three-line optional expectedLinkIdentity pass-through. No attachment, namespace, scheduler, or Spectrum files are in the cumulative diff. git diff --check from base to head passed.

No blocking finding.

S2, cleared

dispatchRemoteObservation in apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Orchestrator.ts (lines 7835-7884) still reads the first subagent.updated event for that parent, task, and request id while command.stop.state === "pending". Reason, environment, link generation, request namespace, and launch client request id must match that event. A concrete historical thread id stays fixed. The only new transition is null thread id to the attached child, and only when remote.launchStarted === true and exactly one peer_return_pairs row joined to its peer_authority_records owner matches this task, parent thread, source envelope environment, destination child and environment, a source-local record (sessionId null, localThreadId the parent, tool t3_thread_launch), and the historical link generation. Missing tables, zero rows, or more than one row fail closed. A projection child id alone does not pass. dispatchWithReceipt still holds threadDispatch.withLock around that read and the commit (lines 12785-12789). requestStop still goes through this owner (RemoteDelegation.ts lines 1019-1025).

The pair row is written by registerPair from the authenticated t3_thread_launch receipt before delegated_task.remote.attach (PeerForwarding.ts lines 266-275, RemoteDelegation.ts lines 528-584). Authority records are insert-only. Launch namespace, client request id, and link identity are already on the remote child before the reply returns, so those strict comparisons do not treat ordinary attachment as a semantic change.

The registered fixture lifecycle381: same public cancellation replays after an in-flight launch attaches holds the launch reply, cancels twice with one native credential before attachment, releases the reply, cancels again after the child id is persisted, rejects forged child, environment, generation, and launch request id without destination events, and keeps a later Stop when the original credential is retried. It passed in this run (363ms).

S1 and G1, still holding

The historical replay still returns without a new event when the first accepted semantics match, so a newer Stop stays the projection. lifecycle381: durable stopped-parent control denies forged intent and mode escalation and replays a lost Stop without stopping later work passed (544ms).

useSubagentOpen still selects hasSourceRemoteTaskView before destination connectivity. Local targets (environmentId === null) call onOpenThread(threadId). Remote targets call onOpenThread(threadId, environmentId). MessagesTimeline.test.tsx is outside the cumulative diff; line 2370 still expects one argument and line 2451 still expects the remote pair. All 89 MessagesTimeline cases and all 20 source-view consumer cases passed, including negotiated opens with B connected and disconnected and the local one-argument path.

Expiry, cleared in the authorized issuance owner

SessionStore.issue (SessionStore.ts lines 702-710) stores DateTime.min of the computed expiry and REUSABLE_DEV_SESSION_EXPIRES_AT (9999-12-31T23:59:59.999Z). That applies to new rows only. permanentSession.ts is unchanged. No migration rewrites existing rows, and the SQL active and revocation predicates are unchanged. Ordinary 30-day and two-second TTLs stay below the sentinel. The new SessionStore case steps the clock 1ms after permanentPeerSessionTtl, issues through SQLite, checks the persisted sentinel, lists the session, checks the peer and mode ceiling, revokes it, and leaves the ordinary session valid. It passed (48ms). The reopened destination-reader workflow also checks that same original grant and the persisted sentinel expiry.

Authority fences inspected

Read the R3 diff in full and the cumulative file list. Re-read source Stop acceptance, the parent command lock, launch attachment, registerPair / prepare, the three-line forwarding exception, source-viewer callers, and new-session expiry. The 43 workflow tests passed on this head, including resource scope, queued promotion, contributor auto/steer/restart, the restart-only case, actual-target conjunction, joint-child eligibility, webhook ceiling, and native cancel mode guards. Generation, namespace, and launch request id remain strict. Legacy unmarked navigation stays on the direct two-argument or local one-argument path. Item-inspector and mobile notification routing were source-reviewed in the prior round and were not interaction-tested here. Their shared web hook is the file this round changed.

Independently executed proof and limits

Review workspace: detached /tmp/chromeria-381-review-grok-r3 at this exact head. Dependencies were the author install via a node_modules symlink. No author, planner, or canonical source writes, checkout, switch, pull, rebase, or reset. No product server, browser, device, live userdata, provider process, or deployment.

Exact command, from that worktree:

pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/peer/PeerAuthority.workflow.test.ts apps/server/src/peer/RemoteDelegation.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RemoteDelegatedTask.test.ts packages/client-runtime/src/state/remoteTasks.test.ts apps/web/src/components/chat/V2LifecycleRow.remote.test.tsx apps/server/src/mcp/TaskCancelNativeSubagent.integration.test.ts apps/server/src/auth/SessionStore.test.ts apps/web/src/components/chat/MessagesTimeline.test.tsx --reporter=verbose

Result: 8 files, 229 tests passed, 64.89s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-grok-r3-tests.log (43 workflow, 39 remote delegation, 7 remote delegated task, 1 guarded source query, 20 web consumer, 1 native cancel, 29 session, 89 timeline).

This pass does not clear the author's two unchanged combined runs on this same source. Those remain 228 passed / 1 failed: /tmp/chromeria-381-r3-final-tests1.log failed cancel ends the task here even when the link is gone during initial linkTo on loopback 64884, and /tmp/chromeria-381-r3-final-tests2.log failed reconciles cancel after acceptance without a launch response during initial linkTo on loopback 49495. Both are PeerLinkError: not_a_t3_environment at PeerLinks.ts lines 333-337, before the behavior under test. describe (lines 176-181) applies Effect.option after a 3-second loopback timeout, so the HTTP, decode, or timeout cause is discarded before that error is built. This review did not reproduce either failure and did not recover the discarded cause. The cause stays UNKNOWN. Isolated passes and the undici trace the author retained do not establish it. The historical Native initialization failed: 404 on 88336f1 in accepted active restart-only input preserves contributor authority also stays unknown; that case passed on this later head in the run above and that pass does not reclassify the earlier failure.

Did not drive a browser, simulator, device, or live provider process, and did not exercise a real multi-machine topology. The executor is the deterministic test adapter. Did not rerun typecheck, lint, knip, fork check, or GitHub CI. Current CI remains parent-owned. #369 response policy, #382 attachments, and #384 autonomy stay future slices. #389 remains open for its own acceptance.

Requirements and who asked: Parent required this independent exact-candidate Grok 4.7 MEDIUM read-only R3 review of the whole component, the S2 and expiry and web repairs, and the retained R1 and R2 findings. No verdict transfers from 88336f1 or e8fad669.
Deleted: Status publication, author or planner edits, live acceptance claims, a second reviewer, and treating the author's failed combined runs as green.
Bottleneck: A null target may become the child only when the original authenticated launch pair says so, and a new expiry must stay lexically representable.
Checked myself: Live PR and git identity, R3 diff and the Stop, pair, open, and issuance owners, and the 229-test run above. The two author initial-link failures remain unresolved.

What: Real client acceptance fails on both-reviewed, CI-green 076c6e1 because the running production server does not expose delegated lifecycle routes.
Why: Lifecycle capability negotiation reaches the HTTP fallback; optional service discovery in the transport can omit the route despite the registered test composition passing.
So what: The same #381 implementation job must repair and prove the actual production composition before fresh independent reviews, CI and parent client acceptance. Integration remains blocked.

Independently observed

Exact source 076c6e1, tree6761e5bf150fe322a83c77ae9e4d22ff1f3eae84, component baseac4ce6bfdc323d7eeaa53e8888f68bc4ef10ba29. Both full R3 approvals6241597731/6241760370 and CI39071586544 were inspected; exact independent success was initially recorded, then changed to FAILURE at21:58:29UTC after this real acceptance failure. Those reviews remain accurate historical scoped verdicts, not runtime acceptance.

Primary used the authorized repository test-t3-app workflow and app Browser panel against fresh isolated homes only. A: reviewed worktree, vp run dev --home-dir /tmp/chromeria-381-acceptance-a, server14247/web6207, terminal71225. B: same source, node apps/server/src/bin.ts --base-dir /tmp/chromeria-381-acceptance-b --port14248 --no-browser, terminal9754. No testkit adapters or direct projection injection. Both endpoints expose real descriptors, isolated SQLite and real installed provider catalog. This is two local environments on Rocky, not physical cross-machine proof.

A environment950a38f2-e2a5-4242-9171-c17e0cb8412c and project8b939b61-b567-4f99-9791-a836e6098ec9 at /tmp/chromeria-381-work-a. B environmentef047b58-1edf-4ad6-a1ba-44320188325c and project42f73d00-0cdd-474b-b9f7-819cdb6a386f at /tmp/chromeria-381-work-b. Both disposable directories were initialized as empty Git repositories. Supported CLI paired A to B under isolated full-access consent, no live link or user data changes.

Through the real browser A-only connection, selected Codex/gpt-6.1-sol/MEDIUM before first prompt and verified persisted model selection. Fixture parent890ae979-9db3-4d16-a023-5efc71cfb6fe first called remote orchestrator_capabilities successfully and confirmed B Sol MEDIUM support. Its first delegation was blocked by AgentsMD's orchestration-read prerequisite before task creation; same fixture then read the required module and retried the identical key381-parent-browser-fixture-v1. Product call returned OrchestratorMcpFailure code orchestration_error, message The delegated lifecycle operation could not be confirmed. No taskId/remoteChild returned. Read-only source and destination queries show zero subagent tasks and zero return pairs. No child provider started. Fixture parent ended; no pending provider work.

Direct GET /mcp/peer-control/tasks on A returns404, B returns503 with No static directory configured and no dev URL set. Both /.well-known/t3/environment return200; ordinary authenticated remote MCP capability discovery works. The lifecycle request is falling through, not reaching expected MCP authentication or v1 response. Source inspection: McpHttpServer.ts1040-1053 resolves optional authority/thread/SQL/outbox dependencies and returns ordinary post/stream routes without task routes when any is absent. Production server.ts755 and runtimeLayer internal layerStores may not export the effect outbox to this composition. Exact missing dependency is a hypothesis for the worker to establish, not yet a verified root cause.

Required correction and proof

Same existing #381 task resumed ordinal6 by supported t3_thread_send key379-381-real-runtime-route-blocker-repair-v1, returned started; Codex Sol MEDIUM unchanged. Existing server/runtime/global gateway ownership covers the correction. No new competing writer. Worker must reproduce at the production composition seam, establish the missing owner, install the real shared service correctly, retain authenticated fail-closed boundaries and prove real route/launch/attach/observe/Stop-effect paths. A test that manually supplies the missing service while production still omits it is insufficient. Do not weaken authentication or capability negotiation, create a duplicate orchestrator, add speculative future-slice hooks, or misattribute unrelated earlier discovery/native404 failures to this unproved cause.

Parent retains both isolated homes, services, browser and private logs for the follow-up. Worker must not start/stop or mutate these resources. Raw server logs contain pairing credentials and fixture conversation text and stay private. Future new candidate needs both NEW independent exact-head/base MEDIUM reviews with all full R1/R2/R3 findings/responses, this parent counterexample and production proof, plus current CI. Parent repeats real client/provider acceptance and owns final topology, integration, migration and cross-machine acceptance. #382/#384 stay stopped, native edges unchanged, no merge/Issue close/ship.

Requirements and who asked: User requires every permitted tool and full delegated lifecycle to work natively, with isolated real client/provider acceptance before shipment.
Deleted: Accepting synthetic registered composition as production proof, bypassing route authentication, inferring completion from dispatch, and integrating on review votes alone.
Bottleneck: Lifecycle route installation in the actual server service composition, before remote task launch can exist.
Checked myself: Both full code reviews and current CI, real Browser/provider call, persisted Sol MEDIUM selection, isolated task/pair absence, actual HTTP fallback responses, and source dependency/route guard. Exact missing service remains under diagnosis.

What: Sol MEDIUM R4 verdict is APPROVE on exact head 00313067e47a64f1a39ffbbb83ec7fb3e74f601b, with no supported actionable blocking code finding in the inspected cumulative component and production repair.
Why: Production now constructs the lifecycle service from exported runtime dependencies, and the transport consumes that service rather than silently rebuilding it from optional stores.
So what: Parent must aggregate BOTH new independent exact-candidate reviews and own current CI plus repeated actual CLI/client/provider acceptance; this comment does not set aggregate independent success or authorize integration.

Reviewer: Codex harness, actual runtime gpt-6.1-sol, reasoning effort medium, verified from the supplied runtime at review start. No fallback, model substitution, extra delegation, second reviewer or historical verdict transfer.

Findings and production repair assessment

No supported actionable blocking code finding.

The parent's real production counterexample is accepted evidence, not overruled by earlier approvals or CI. Read the complete parent record, including actual A404/B503 fallback, working descriptors/ordinary authenticated capabilities and native delegation failure before any task existed. Reviewed all five repair files, the full cumulative component diff and relevant surrounding consumers, current #379/#381 bodies/comments and frozen-v5 contract, original complete handoff, full R1/R2/R3 findings and author responses, precise forwarding and ended-parent Stop decisions, and #380 audit/matrix/rejected-design adjudication.

Actual runtime ownership. runtimeLayer.ts exports the existing EffectOutbox.layer reference already contained in layerStores, alongside the existing shared recovery layer. It does not create another outbox implementation or mutable owner. Traced layerStores into the event sink, orchestrator, effect worker and recovery, and layerProduction through server.ts's runtime dependencies/startup services to the final route composition. Inspected installed Effect 4.0.4 Layer construction: memoization keys the Layer object, and merge/provide propagate the same memo map. The reused reference therefore shares the outbox's notification and settlement state within this production build, as well as its SQL rows. No fresh construction boundary was introduced in that server path.

Actual service composition and authenticated transport. server.ts now explicitly provides PeerTaskLifecycle.layer after composing the runtime services and authority it needs. McpHttpServer.ts consumes that service; it no longer discovers individual optional thread/SQL/outbox stores and constructs lifecycle inside the transport. Capability GET advertises v1 only when the lifecycle service exists. Authority-enabled partial composition without that service returns 409 on GET and POST. Existing bearer middleware still wraps both routes, and operation failures remain denied. Ordinary minimal MCP transport behavior remains covered by the existing HTTP suite. This fixes an actual production dependency/export path, not only fixture assumptions.

Regression fidelity and limits. The runtime test fixture's explicit masking EffectOutbox.layer injection is removed. The new registered fixture builds ProductionRuntime.layer, the kernel exported through layerProduction, without injecting an outbox into transport. It composes the actual lifecycle service, authenticated peer transport, native registered delegation/cancellation, source command/history, attachment, SQLite receipts and native descendant Stop owner. Its persisted checks observe negotiated v1, actual B child identity through source view, unauthenticated GET401, one Stop receipt, pending before drain, settled after drain, source confirmed, interrupted destination run and one succeeded delegated-tasks.stop effect. The final independent run passed that case in 589ms. External provider/session/checkpoint/repository and launch-catalog boundaries remain deterministic fixtures; the drain executor runs the native descendant Stop owner and substitutes external effects. This is not a full CLI startup test or evidence of a live provider process dying.

Read /tmp/chromeria-381-r4-production-route-red3.log: historical 076c6e1 production-kernel capability negotiation fails with the expected unsupported-lifecycle error. This is retained author baseline evidence, not an independently executed baseline run by this reviewer. Earlier setup failures are not counted as reproductions. Read final author native proof separately; it is not substituted for parent product acceptance.

Preserved cumulative contracts

  • R1 S1: source Stop acceptance and durable history lookup remain under the parent dispatch lock. A historical matching replay returns without replacing a newer intent; changed historical semantics rejects, and late dispositions must match the current request. The registered concurrent/newer-intent/reconstruction/native Stop2 fixture passed.
  • R2 S2: null-to-child reconciliation still requires the original authenticated return pair joined to its authority owner. Parent/task, source audience, child/environment, original generation, launch namespace/key and reason remain bound; concrete targets cannot be replaced. Same native credential before and after delayed attachment, reconstruction and corruption negatives passed.
  • R1 G1 and callbacks: inspected transcript, notification, background banner, item inspector, relationships and mobile notification/group/agents-sheet callers. Negotiated jobs select the source viewer before destination connectivity; unmarked/local jobs retain direct navigation. The 20 real web consumer cases and all 89 unchanged MessagesTimeline cases passed. Local opens remain exactly one argument, qualified remote opens two. Item-inspector/mobile interactions and actual clients were source-reviewed, not driven here. Desktop shares web rendering.
  • fix(auth): permanent peer expiry can fall outside lexical active-session queries #389 exception: only new issuance is capped at the existing year-9999 sentinel. No existing-row rewrite, migration, SQL-date predicate expansion, grant expansion or permanentSession.ts change. The real stepped-clock issuance/list/verify/revoke controls and same-original-session reopened-reader workflow passed. fix(auth): permanent peer expiry can fall outside lexical active-session queries #389 remains open for its acceptance.
  • Authority/result/compatibility: inspected typed task-scoped ended-parent Stop, original pair/current generation and grants, per-hop inherited obligations, current source and actual-target/descendant mode/resource checks, creation plus accepted-input contributor conjunction and native claim/retry fences. Original feat(peer): remote children return results and delegate onward within durable grants #380 R1-R8 workflow cases passed. Immutable terminal-COMMIT result reconstruction, separate launch versus actual original-result provenance, ordered later results/backpressure/acknowledgement, monitor exclusion, legacy markers/import and mixed-version denials remain. Settled explicit-grant/cooperative-server decisions were not reopened without evidence.
  • PeerForwarding.ts cumulative scope is exactly the approved three added lines carrying optional expectedLinkIdentity to the existing forward option. No repair-round forwarding change, feat(peer): transfer attachments and make remote retries preserve operation identity #382 attachment/request-namespace implementation, feat(peer): run destination schedules webhooks and Spectrum while the creator is offline #384 scheduler/check/Spectrum work or speculative hooks were added. feat(peer): surface and answer remote descendant requests from the parent #369 response policy remains later work.

Independent executed proof

Fresh exclusive detached reviewer worktree: /private/tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r4-0031306 (created through /tmp). Dependencies prepared there with pnpm install --offline --frozen-lockfile, exit 0. No author, planner, canonical main or old mobile source writes or checkout/switch/reset/pull/rebase operations. No product servers, browser, device, live userdata or provider prompts/processes.

Exact unchanged candidate selection:

pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/runtimeLayer.test.ts apps/server/src/mcp/McpHttpServer.test.ts apps/server/src/peer/PeerAuthority.workflow.test.ts apps/server/src/peer/RemoteDelegation.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RemoteDelegatedTask.test.ts packages/client-runtime/src/state/remoteTasks.test.ts apps/web/src/components/chat/V2LifecycleRow.remote.test.tsx apps/server/src/mcp/TaskCancelNativeSubagent.integration.test.ts apps/server/src/auth/SessionStore.test.ts apps/web/src/components/chat/MessagesTimeline.test.tsx --reporter=verbose

Exit 0: 10 files, 335 tests passed, 85.09s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r4-tests.log. Counts: 81 runtime, 24 HTTP, 44 authority workflows, 39 remote delegation, 7 remote-task orchestration, 1 guarded source query, 20 web consumers, 1 native cancellation, 29 SessionStore and 89 MessagesTimeline. No retries or assertion/timeout/transport-policy changes.

Separately added a reviewer-only HTTP composition probe in the detached worktree, then ran:

pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/mcp/ReviewR4LifecycleComposition.test.ts --reporter=verbose

Exit 0: 2 tests passed, 8.12s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r4-partial-composition.log. With authority present and lifecycle absent, authenticated GET/POST return409; both unauthenticated methods return401. With a supplied lifecycle owner, authenticated GET returns version1 and a denied operation returns403. This probe substitutes authentication/authority/lifecycle owners to isolate transport composition; it is not additional real-auth or native-effect acceptance. Its exact source is retained at /tmp/chromeria-381-review-sol-r4-partial-composition.probe.ts, removed from the review worktree after execution. The unchanged 335-case run preceded this separate probe. Review worktree is clean at the exact candidate. git diff --check base head passes.

Material unresolved proof limits

Opened the decisive retained failure output. The author's R4 four-file selection remains FAILED: 90 passed / 1 failed out of91, /tmp/chromeria-381-r4-lifecycle-final.log: target delegation keeps the source parent's record and completion wake fails its initial linkTo, PeerLinkError: not_a_t3_environment, loopback59869, before delegation. The unchanged standalone39 pass does not erase or diagnose it. Both R3 author combined runs remain FAILED228/229 at initial links on64884 and49495. The R2 Sol run remains 109 passed /1 failed, Native initialization failed: 404 before the restart-only authority operation. Isolated and later passing selections do not establish any of those causes.

PeerLinks.describe wraps descriptor HTTP/decode/timeout failure in Effect.option; retained errors do not distinguish those underlying causes. They remain UNKNOWN. The established historical production route omission is not assigned as their cause without evidence. My new335-pass run is separately identified current-source proof, not a retrospective green label or diagnosis.

No full repository suite, independent current CI assessment, type/lint/knip/fork rerun, full CLI daemon boot, actual web/desktop/mobile interaction/screenshots, live provider Stop/process-death, physical cross-machine topology or process crash/upgrade/rollback acceptance was executed here. Parent owns current CI and repeated actual product acceptance, both-reviewer aggregation, integration and final topology. No aggregate review/independent status, GitHub approval review, fix, edge clearance, Issue closure, merge, release, installation or shipment was performed. PR #392 is linked to this thread. Worktree, logs and probe source are retained.

Requirements and who asked: Parent requires a fresh independent Sol MEDIUM exact-candidate review of complete #381 plus the production wiring repair, preserving frozen-v5 authority and every prior accepted regression and proof limit.
Deleted: Historical verdict transfer, extra delegation, optional-store transport reconstruction, masking outbox injection as proof, author-workspace mutation, speculative future-slice hooks, aggregate-status publication and unsupported failure-cause attribution.
Bottleneck: Actual production dependency export/service construction must make the authenticated lifecycle path reachable while retaining shared runtime/effect ownership and honest proof boundaries.
Checked myself: Exact Git/tree/base/live PR and clean source, complete cumulative diff and repair graph, installed Layer memoization, authenticated native/persisted Stop fixture, unchanged335-case pass, separate partial-composition probe and decisive retained failures; actual CLI/client/provider and current CI remain parent-owned.

What: Parent actual web/native-provider proof now passes original result, two continuations, server restart, source-only inspection and later-work Stop on 0031306.
Why: The production lifecycle route now exists and uses real shared runtime services, so the previously blocked native delegation can launch and return through the application.
So what: Keep #381 open while both R4 reviews/current CI are reconciled; parent still owns remaining mobile, physical cross-machine, nested-provider and final combined acceptance. This record is scoped proof, not shipment.

Actual flow and persisted evidence

Before repair, exact076c6e1 real native dispatch failed before task creation and route fell through A404/B503, recorded6241863959. After restart on exact0031306, unauthenticated lifecycle GET returns401 at both servers, preserving authentication. Same request key381-parent-browser-fixture-v1 then succeeds through the real native adapter/app MCP. Source parent890ae979-9db3-4d16-a023-5efc71cfb6fe delegates one visible task. Its source task ID is node:delegated-task:command%3Amcp%3Athread%253A950a38f2-e2a5-4242-9171-c17e0cb8412c%253A890ae979-9db3-4d16-a023-5efc71cfb6fe%3Aremote-delegate%3A381-parent-browser-fixture-v1; source childThreadId remains null. Qualified B child is mcp:launch:client%3A458a1b3e-815e-4c3c-aed1-740133f0e7df:fwd%3A9fc4b828d70782f4263d4519c944652af8e670541331dfe0e1f2911555ce6826.

Real B provider ordinal1 returns ORIGINAL_381_REAL_PROVIDER. Two deliberate t3_thread_send continuations to the SAME B child, keys381-real-continuation-1 and381-real-continuation-2, return CONTINUATION_1_381_REAL_PROVIDER and CONTINUATION_2_381_REAL_PROVIDER from ordinals2/3. Automatic source parent wakes arrive and the native task status reports the latest result. Parent independently reads isolated SQLite: task.result and originalResult ordinal1 unchanged, latestResult advances to ordinal3, lifecycleVersion1 persisted, foreign IDs qualified, local childThreadId null.

Clicked real transcript Open Subagent action. A's RemoteTaskViewer displays original and latest result plus all three messages/results, remaining on A's route without any B browser connection. At later B work it reports working while retaining original/latest completed result, rather than reporting done. This independently exercises the consumer that R1G1 had missed. Component tests separately cover connected-B, notification, banner, local and legacy controls; this actual pass does not relabel those as independently clicked here.

With both test homes showing zero active runs, stopped ONLY retained own A51445/B82684 sessions and restarted same homes/source. Current A terminal2400 and B4369, logs/tmp/chromeria-381-acceptance-a-r4-restart.log and...-b-r4-restart.log. Browser reconnects with its existing A session; reopened source viewer makes a fresh request and preserves original plus latest ordinal3. No reseeding, new task, projection mutation, auth bypass or reverse ordinary link.

Later B ordinal4 runs a bounded native command. Parent A turn had already ended. Source viewer Stop records client-stop:fb1056c4-bc12-4617-8468-de05fc8ad33c, destination peer-task-stop:0afc121947b0fb17073ed25d703db2c56c00bf2f2c093cfda8e18fde3d85110d. B run and command item become interrupted, actual delegated-tasks.stop and provider-turn.interrupt effects both succeeded, A stop confirmed, original result unchanged. The initial process-inventory filter did not capture an OS PID, so this first Stop alone does NOT claim OS process death.

A NEW explicit continuation starts B ordinal5 with one bounded Python process and the sole permitted fixture witness/tmp/chromeria-381-stop5.pid. This is new deliberate work after Stop, not an old request replay. PID49836 is captured from that process's own witness and verified alive with its exact Python fixture command before UI Stop. Witness mtime22:21:03.633629UTC. A's sending turn completed22:21:04.405UTC. Parent clicks source-view Stop; B run ordinal5 completed as interrupted22:21:29.232UTC, about25.6seconds into the55second process, before natural exit. Immediately after, os.kill(pid,0) reports ProcessLookupError/absent. No manual process kill or pattern cleanup occurred. Before/after witnesses retained/tmp/chromeria-381-stop5-before.json and...-after.json.

Second source request client-stop:e894daa0-69f9-4ef5-aa65-68b2ebbe311c is confirmed; destination command peer-task-stop:f489d9a3cf1ca044c2368ae698a1cd563c12c38393f0cf1c4ea68c89d3fd3a20 differs from first. Its exact effect::delegated-tasks.stop and effect::provider-turn.interrupt:provider-turn:provider:codex:native-turn:01a14bf4-3fa2-7b83-bbc8-3c50eb27ec03 both persist succeeded. Source latest result ordinal5 interrupted, original literal remains unchanged, no pending children/queued runs/requests. This is real Codex adapter/process interruption in isolated state; it does not establish other-provider process behavior or nested real-provider interruption.

Remaining gates

Both NEW R4 reviews and new-head CI remain required. Full #379 integration, physical different-machine/client topology, mobile/simulator, remaining tools and later dependent slices, combined migration/protocol/artifact/activation/live verification remain outstanding. Original unknown native404 and initial link failures remain unknown, not attributed to the outbox fix. No final acceptance, component merge, blocker clearing, Issue closure, release/build/install/shipment is claimed. Parent-owned test homes/browser/resources remain available; worker never operated them. Current evidence is bound to exact source0031306 and existing isolated consent.

Requirements and who asked: User requires native delegated lifecycle and real isolated client/provider proof under #379, with both reviews/current CI before delivery.
Deleted: Dispatch-only success, stale UI-only Stop claims, OS process-death inference without a captured witness, reverse client credentials, and treating local environments as physical multi-machine acceptance.
Bottleneck: Confirm actual product launch/return/continuation/restart/Stop before admitting the component into integration.
Checked myself: Real app Browser actions and responses, actual persisted task/run/receipt/effect identities, model/effort selections, server restart and fresh source view, captured live fixture PID then absence before deadline, and locally/GitHub verified image digests. Remaining surfaces are explicitly unverified.

What: Approve exact head 00313067e47a64f1a39ffbbb83ec7fb3e74f601b. The production server now builds delegated lifecycle from the runtime's shared effect outbox, and the registered native path advertises version 1 only when that service exists.
Why: The transport used to skip /mcp/peer-control/tasks when EffectOutboxV2 was hidden inside the runtime kernel, which is the omission behind the real client 404/503 fallback.
So what: The parent aggregates both new reviews and owns current CI plus a repeat of the actual client and provider acceptance. This comment does not set review/independent.

  • Repair commit 00313067e4 is a child of reviewed 076c6e1d8a. The R4 diff is five paths: McpHttpServer.ts, runtimeLayer.ts, runtimeLayer.test.ts, PeerAuthority.workflow.test.ts, and server.ts. PeerForwarding.ts has no R4 diff. Its cumulative diff remains the approved three-line optional expectedLinkIdentity pass-through. No attachment, namespace, scheduler, or Spectrum files are in the cumulative diff. git diff --check from base to head passed.

No blocking finding.

Production route, cleared in the inspected composition

layerStores already held EffectOutbox.layer. RuntimeLayer.layer (runtimeLayer.ts lines 394-396) now merges that same layer reference, so layerProduction (runtimeLayer.ts lines 425-431 and 463) exports the service. Effect 4.0.4, the installed copy, memoizes a layer by object identity in one MemoMap, and Layer.provide merges the dependency context into the inner build (effect/dist/internal/effect.js provideContext uses Context.merge). One server build therefore keeps a single outbox for the worker and for later consumers of the runtime context.

server.ts lines 1136-1149 provide PeerTaskLifecycle.layer on the application, outside layerServerApplication and inside layerRuntimeServices. The runtime is built first. PeerTaskLifecycle.make (PeerTaskLifecycle.ts lines 77-84) then takes EffectOutboxV2, threads, SQL, receipts, authority, and RecoveryWaitState from that context. It does not construct another outbox. RecoveryWaitState has an inert default, but the runtime's layerRecoveryWaitProvided is already in the context, so startup uses the real recovery reader. Missing the exported outbox fails this construction instead of dropping the route.

McpHttpServer layerPeerControl (McpHttpServer.ts lines 1037-1063) no longer probes thread, SQL, and outbox separately or rebuilds a lifecycle service. It reads the composed service. With peer authority and the service, GET returns { version: 1 } and POST calls execute. With authority and no service, both return 409. Without authority, the task routes stay unregistered. layerMcpTransport still applies the existing bearer middleware, and an unauthenticated GET is 401 before the route body. PeerMcpClient still treats 404 and 409 as "no lifecycle operation was accepted" and does not create work.

The registered test builds RuntimeLayer.layer without supplying EffectOutbox.layer to the transport, then builds PeerTaskLifecycle.layer from that context and serves it. layerTest in runtimeLayer.test.ts no longer injects a second outbox. The other runtime fixture that still lists EffectOutbox.layer uses the same reference, so memoization keeps one owner. This test does not launch server.ts or the CLI.

Prior repairs still holding

R4 does not change the Stop, open, or issuance owners. dispatchRemoteObservation (Orchestrator.ts lines 7835-7884) still replays a matching historical Stop under the parent command lock, and a null thread becomes the child only when launchStarted and exactly one authenticated peer_return_pairs row joined to its t3_thread_launch authority record matches. useSubagentOpen still calls local onOpenThread(threadId) and remote onOpenThread(threadId, environmentId). SessionStore.issue still caps a new expiry at the year-9999 sentinel. The 44 workflow cases, 20 source-view cases, 89 timeline cases, and 29 session cases passed in this run.

Independently executed proof and limits

Review workspace: detached /tmp/chromeria-381-review-grok-r4 at this exact head. Dependencies were the author install via a node_modules symlink. No author, planner, or canonical source writes, checkout, switch, pull, rebase, or reset. No product server, browser, device, live userdata, provider process, or deployment.

Exact commands, from that worktree:

pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/peer/PeerAuthority.workflow.test.ts apps/server/src/peer/RemoteDelegation.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RemoteDelegatedTask.test.ts packages/client-runtime/src/state/remoteTasks.test.ts apps/web/src/components/chat/V2LifecycleRow.remote.test.tsx apps/server/src/mcp/TaskCancelNativeSubagent.integration.test.ts apps/server/src/auth/SessionStore.test.ts apps/web/src/components/chat/MessagesTimeline.test.tsx --reporter=verbose

Result: 8 files, 230 tests passed, 68.65s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-grok-r4-tests.log (44 workflow, 39 remote delegation, 7 remote delegated task, 1 guarded source query, 20 web consumer, 1 native cancel, 29 session, 89 timeline). The new production-kernel case passed in 452ms. Its fixture Stop command was peer-task-stop:fc51f949a414d7e5772cfcd48100b3bbd95eb2e7897c1ab72e919f3322a3bb56, with one succeeded delegated-tasks.stop row. Those ids are from this isolated fixture. The executor substitutes external effects and runs the native Stop owner against the exported outbox. This is not live provider death.

./node_modules/.bin/vp test run apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/runtimeLayer.test.ts apps/server/src/mcp/McpHttpServer.test.ts --reporter=verbose

Result: 2 files, 105 tests passed, 8.85s, /tmp/chromeria-381-review-grok-r4-runtime-http.log.

Opened the author's retained red /tmp/chromeria-381-r4-production-route-red3.log. On the stated pre-repair source, the production-kernel capability request fails with The destination does not support delegated lifecycle v1. Update both environments; no lifecycle operation was accepted. This review did not re-execute that baseline. Opened /tmp/chromeria-381-r4-lifecycle-final.log: the author's four-file run stays 90 passed / 1 failed. target delegation keeps the source parent's record and completion wake fails initial linkTo with PeerLinkError: not_a_t3_environment before delegation. Cause remains UNKNOWN. It is not attributed to the missing lifecycle route. This review's 230-pass command includes that file and passed, and that pass does not erase or explain the author's failed selection. The R3 combined initial-link failures and the R2 Native initialization failed: 404 stay unknown on their original heads. R3 approvals and CI 39071586544 stay historical for 076c6e1.

Did not boot layerMakeServer, the CLI, a browser, a simulator, a device, or a live provider, and did not exercise a physical multi-machine topology. Did not rerun typecheck, lint, knip, fork check, or GitHub CI. Current CI and the parent's repeat of the real two-process acceptance remain parent-owned. #369 response policy, #382 attachments, and #384 autonomy stay future slices. #389 remains open for its own acceptance.

Requirements and who asked: Parent required this independent exact-candidate Grok 4.7 MEDIUM read-only R4 review of the whole component plus the five-file production wiring repair, after real acceptance failed on 076c6e1.
Deleted: Verdict transfer, extra delegation, author or planner edits, treating the registered test as CLI acceptance, and assigning the unknown discovery and native-404 failures to this route.
Bottleneck: The HTTP lifecycle route has to see the same outbox the runtime worker already owns, or the server must fail closed.
Checked myself: Live PR and git identity, the five-file diff, Effect 4.0.4 provide and memoization, the server and transport graph, the retained red and the author's failed four-file log, and the 230-test and 105-test runs above.

What: Current #381 CI attempt 1 failed one unchanged composer performance assertion; no lifecycle server or web test failed.
Why: The adversarial bracket parser test measured 1693.3490129999998 ms against 1000 ms; its cause remains unknown.
So what: One bounded unchanged failed-job rerun follows; CI acceptance remains pending and no integration is authorized by these observations alone.

Exact head 00313067e47a64f1a39ffbbb83ec7fb3e74f601b, failed job. All six server shards, Test Web, lint, typecheck, build, release smoke and Rust passed. Aggregate Check failed from Test. The complete raw Test log contains one failed assertion, composerInlineTokens.test.ts:191; parser/test are unchanged from base. Rocky's unchanged focused 33-test run passed in 271 ms total, without reproducing CI timing. No threshold or source changed, and no environmental cause is claimed. Separate owner record #409 retains search, evidence and unresolved cause. Local raw log: /tmp/chromeria-381-r4-ci-test-job.log.

Both required reviews still gate integration: Sol R4 approved in #392 (comment); Grok R4 remains running. Parent actual-runtime/source-client/real-provider proof is #381 (comment), with its explicit remaining combined/machine/mobile/provider limits. Implemented/proved within those limits, not yet accepted, integrated, shipped or activated.

Requirements and who asked: #379 requires current CI and both independent MEDIUM reviews.
Deleted: No threshold relaxation, code workaround or unbounded rerun.
Bottleneck: Failed general Test and pending Grok review.
Checked myself: Read complete failed log and live job conclusions, verified unchanged source and ran 33 focused tests successfully.

What: Both required independent MEDIUM reviews approve exact #381 head 00313067e47a64f1a39ffbbb83ec7fb3e74f601b.
Why: Sol and installed Grok independently inspected the complete component and production wiring repair, retaining earlier failed observations and their limits.
So what: Code review is satisfied for this exact head; current CI attempt 2 must finish before internal integration.

Sol gpt-6.1-sol MEDIUM: #392 (comment). Grok grok-4.7 MEDIUM: #392 (comment). Both full findings were read; Grok's retained logs independently show 230 component tests and 105 runtime/HTTP tests passed. These do not erase the author's unknown initial discovery failures.

Parent's actual CLI, source-browser, continuation/restart and installed Codex Stop/process-death proof on this same head is #381 (comment); its physical-machine/mobile/other-provider/combined limits remain explicit.

The notification's failed Check job 117519937741 belongs to already-recorded attempt 1. The current run 39074035095 is attempt 2, in progress, unchanged head. No further rerun was issued. The transfer report comment 6240865619 names this exact SHA and passes every enforced ceiling, but has no successful main baseline and establishes only its initial measurements. Its source-CI failure text still reflects attempt 1. No baseline comparison is claimed.

No merge, blocker clearing, build, shipment or activation yet. #409 retains the original composer timing failure and unknown cause.

What: #381 exact candidate is independently reviewed and current CI is green for internal integration.
Why: Both required MEDIUM reviewers approve 00313067e47a64f1a39ffbbb83ec7fb3e74f601b; CI 39074035095 attempt 2 succeeded on that unchanged head.
So what: The #379 planner will squash this component only into its exclusive integration branch; final-main acceptance and shipment remain outstanding.

Base ac4ce6bfdc323d7eeaa53e8888f68bc4ef10ba29, tree 305d63ed38070ac5b0f382e603eec11425118cf0. Live base/head match and GitHub merge state is CLEAN/MERGEABLE. Latest review/independent is success by authenticated repository account lukemaj. Both complete reviews: Sol6242142508 and Grok6242249251 on PR392, aggregated in #381 (comment). Parent actual proof #381 (comment) covers two isolated local production CLI environments, source-only browser, original result plus two continuations, restart, and real installed Codex Stop including witnessed process death after the source turn ended. Registered tests separately cover nested recovery, authority, races and mixed versions. These do not claim physical cross-machine, native-mobile, other live providers or all-tool combined acceptance.

The original attempt-1 unchanged composer timing failure remains unexplained in #409. One unchanged rerun passed; no threshold/source change or further rerun. Transfer measurements pass every enforced ceiling, with no successful main baseline available. Both unknown historical discovery/native404 observations remain on their original evidence; later passes do not assign a cause.

The 381 author worktree, isolated A/B acceptance homes/processes, reviewer evidence and dependency installations remain needed by #379 acceptance/rollback and next slices. Internal integration is not terminal finalization. No package version bump, main merge, Issue closure, release/build/distribution/activation or cleanup of protected prior mobile outputs is authorized by this component milestone alone.

Requirements and who asked: User-authorized #379 component integration after independent exact-candidate proof/review and CI, preserving one final outcome PR.
Deleted: Transfer of old-head approvals, new CI retry, version bump, final acceptance claim or unrelated resource cleanup.
Bottleneck: Preserve the stable lifecycle foundation before shared attachment/request-identity and autonomy consumers proceed.
Checked myself: Live base/head/merge state, all current checks, both full reviews and retained logs, actual CLI/client/provider evidence and original failed CI preservation.

Agent Observer supported sync and sequential publish both exited 0. Updated cost/gap record: #392 (comment). Its unknown/unplaced/unpriced coverage is not a complete total; no manual attribution or rates were added.

**What**: Exact #369 candidate42051c passed real source-only web and Codex peer request acceptance, including committed replay after both full CLI servers restarted.
**Why**: Independent tests cannot establish that the production composition, real provider callback and source-only client work together.
**So what**: The planner accepts this bounded internal component for integration into #379 after a fresh head/base/gate check; combined multi-machine/client acceptance and final shipment remain pending.

Requirements and who asked: User #379 mandates native delegated lifecycle and all permitted tools with two MEDIUM reviewers and real isolated client/provider proof.
Deleted: No fake provider, direct SQL mutation, injected browser RPC, capability expansion, alternate harness or duplicate callback.
Bottleneck: Current candidate integration; #383 shared device authority/discovery and #384/#385/#386 remain outstanding.
Checked myself: Primary planner drove actual source A browser, inspected native B events/provider results, restarted both CLI products, replayed exact original request, and reopened the same source-only result.

Identity: HEAD42051c47813c354682b80677009b199d86fef1a0, treef9efef2d7df1b8b91ac64b09018386e79ccc1d45, baseab1bf53640e2a6541a2ba9f316839cedf81d4f46. Clean author workspace /Users/rocky/.t3/worktrees/chromeria/feat-369-remote-pending-requests. Both full production servers ran that source, with meaningful copied task-owned history in NEW /tmp/chromeria-369-acceptance-a and -b; old382 homes/evidence remained untouched. Node24.18, A server14247/web7663, B14248, source incognito Browser connected ONLY to A950a38f2-e2a5-4242-9171-c17e0cb8412c. Actual B is ef047b58-1edf-4ad6-a1ba-44320188325c. No live userdata write, new grant, physical device or standalone worker server.

Human source-only flow: A actual Codex gpt-6.1-sol/MEDIUM delegated real async B task369-parent-native-question-v1 in existing B project/root. B actual Codex asked request_user_input_async, persisted pending at B sequence288. Primary opened source task viewer from transcript; browser URL stayed A, no B profile. The actual card displayed369 REAL REMOTE QUESTION, ACCEPT_369/DECLINE_369 and disabled Send answer until selection. Primary selected ACCEPT_369 and sent once. B durable request resolved at sequence290, command mcp:request:385bcb2f7e0a7415a3c0d1cda8a0cabb0b7204f83949b505a9f4fe4cb6482210:0, 2026-10-18T10:10:47.347Z. Real provider consumed the answer and completed369_REMOTE_ANSWER=ACCEPT_369. Source returned exact original result and zero pending requests. Not inferred from dispatch acceptance.

Agent tool flow: Separate deliberate B task369-parent-native-agent-answer-v1, same explicit Color. Native delegate mode wait returned on real pending question with waitTimedOut:false, requestCount1, actual qualified target/revision334. Source local list{} correctly returned[]; explicit remote descendant list returned its actual request. Native qualified read returned real369 REAL AGENT QUESTION/options/revision334. Source called t3_pending_request_respond with original target/route/expectedRevision334, answers{0:AGENT_ACCEPT_369}, stable key369-parent-agent-response-v1. Initial AND exact retry both returned sequence340. B request has exactly one pending334 and one resolved336 event; real provider completed369_AGENT_RESULT=AGENT_ACCEPT_369. Two B tasks intentionally created, each ordinal1 completed, no duplicate B run.

Restart proof: Read-only query found zero preparing/queued/starting/running/waiting runs in A/B. Primary stopped only captured own sessions47643/49402 (exit130), restarted same source and same NEW homes in sessions86505/9639. A actual Codex ordinal34 called ONLY the exact original respond input/key after reconstruction: sequence340 again. Postrestart B has no additional request resolution or provider run. Source previous-agent viewer reopened after both restarts with original human result, real accepted answer and zero pending requests. Actual client screenshot inspected before upload.

Evidence: local immutable/raw read-only oracles /tmp/chromeria-369-parent-actual-question-proof.json, /tmp/chromeria-369-parent-native-agent-tool-proof.json, /tmp/chromeria-369-parent-postrestart-proof.json. Full CLI logs /tmp/chromeria-369-acceptance-{a,b}-server.log and -restart.log retained. Native Browser screenshots in existing UNPUBLISHED draft evidence-379, never a public release:

Limits: These are TWO isolated Rocky environments, web/source-only browser and actual Codex provider. No physical cross-machine/tunnel/mobile/native desktop/all-provider/real live approval, durable-dismiss or secret acceptance claim. Registered native tests retain their own broader and S1/S2 race/empty-choice proof. Earlier native initialization404 remains UNKNOWN; later tests/CI/actual positives do not diagnose it. Operational verification earlier used invalid exact=true locator syntax and a stale assumed web port; corrected to supported selectors/actual dev-runner7663 without alternate browser or product changes. Cost supported publish #416 (comment) is partial task379 coverage, not complete cost; old unplaced/unpriced usage remains unknown. Background supported sync still pending at this record, not presumed complete.

States: implemented YES; current focused/native tests YES under their exact records; BOTH reviewed YES; current CI YES; bounded primary product proof YES; internal integration NOT YET at this record; main merged/build/shipped/activated/live combined acceptance NO. No package bump. All rollback/evidence/workspaces retained under explicit #379 instruction until final acceptance.

* fix(orchestration): accept blank optional answers in remote request admission

* test(server): weight typed peer effects by their CI time

PeerAuthority.typedEffects.workflow.test.ts takes about 197s in a CI shard

* fix(peer): reopened parents follow their remote tasks again

Archiving a parent ended its remote follower, and nothing restarted it on
unarchive, so the reopened parent missed later remote results until a

parent's unarchive or deletion instead of exiting, so reopening resumes
observation without a new entry point or a duplicate follower.

* fix(peer): threads read and answer their own questions again

The replacement pending-request service refused every "own" answerer, so a
thread reading or answering its own user-input question, or an ordinary
full-access MCP client doing so, got capability_denied. Own access is
restored for local, non-linked callers on threads not delegated from
another environment. Own approvals, dismiss, linked clients and remote
delegated children keep their existing refusals.

* fix(web, mobile): remote request cards keep multiline editor answers

Remote pending-request cards rendered every custom answer as a single-line
field, so a multiline editor prefill displayed and was stored flattened.
Editor questions (those with an initialAnswer) now use the Textarea on web
and a multiline, newline-submitting field on mobile, as the local paths do.

* fix(scheduled-tasks): keyed pause and resume replay their receipt

A keyed update_scheduled_task carries clientRequestId on its input, so the
enable-only shortcut never matched: a keyed pause or resume fell through to
the full definition update and was refused without a purposeIntent. The
shortcut now ignores routing fields, and setEnabled records and replays
the keyed mutation receipt like create, update and delete. A retried
keyed pause after a later resume replays instead of retiring the newer
automation certificate.

* fix(scheduled-tasks): post-admission recheck refusals release keyed manual runs

A typed refusal from the recheck after admission, or after the dispatch
claim, now records the key as failed and frees the schedule instead of
leaving it running. The stage-guarded claim keeps uncertain dispatches
outcome_unknown.

* fix(childThreads): stop-disposed remote children stay pending background work

A parent interrupt disposes a delegated completion with disposedBy "stop"
without stopping the remote child. The sparse SQL remote arm dropped that
row while the local arm and pendingDelegatedChildTasks kept it, so shells,
auto-settlement and storage cleanup treated the parent as idle.

* fix(scheduled-tasks): final recheck refusals no longer fail a concurrent same-key dispatch

The final live recheck ran after the prepared -> dispatching claim and
terminalized a refusal from the dispatching stage. For an existing-thread
schedule a same-key retry can read dispatching and send concurrently, so
the refusal failed the request and freed the schedule while that send was
accepted. The final recheck now precedes the claim, so a refusal is only
recorded through the prepared-stage compare-and-set.

* fix(peer): finished remote jobs no longer hold back live Stops

A lifecycle-v1 follower keeps long-polling its job there after the result,
so a later Stop or follow-up is still observed. Each poll held one of the
eight shared peer permits for up to 20 s, so more than eight finished jobs
starved Stops and live observations of other jobs.

Followers whose job has nothing left to do there (result available, no
queued runs, questions or recovery wait, or a confirmed Stop) now wait on
their own semaphore. Stops, unconfirmed and acknowledged stops, live jobs
and follow-ups seen as working keep the existing eight permits.

* fix(peer): stopped remote jobs with new work there keep live permits

A confirmed Stop counted a job as settled whatever its latest snapshot
said, so fresh direct input on the destination child after the Stop
left its follower queued behind idle settled long-polls, also after a
restart.

A job is now settled only while its latest snapshot is quiet (result
available, no queued runs, questions or recovery wait); a confirmed Stop
also needs that quiet snapshot. Anything showing activity uses the
shared network permits.
