Support AgentsMD on-demand procedure bundles in role kits #65
Support AgentsMD's single discoverable operations skill with nested on-demand procedures in every non-planner role kit. Preserve older AgentsMD installations and the direction loader contract.
This advances Model Router's Objective: AgentsMD owns workflow, authority and proof while Model Router supplies eligible execution routes without human routing.
Acceptance criteria
Worker and correction kits work with the new operations-only bundle and existing split-skill installations.
Preserve agentsmd-project-direction, loader metadata, complete direction injection, role permissions, authority and review boundaries.
Materialization retains nested procedures under both symlink and copy fallback. Actual observed skill inventory stays accurate.
Missing required procedures or dependencies fail clearly. No silent loss of direction repair.
No model-policy duplication in AgentsMD and no worker redispatch loop.
Deterministic kit tests and complete repository proof pass, with independent exact-SHA Astra review.
AgentsMD will expose only skills/operations/SKILL.md. Direction repair becomes the ordinary file operations/workflows/project-direction/index.md; the context contract is its references/context.md. Other procedures stay inside the same operations directory. The global instruction source and executable bin/project-direction remain separate supported installation components.
The observed blocker is unconditional kit lookup for a separate project-direction skill. Delete that requirement for the new bundle; retain legacy resolution when only the old layout exists. Avoid a second router service or a copied workflow/model policy. The smallest solution changes kit dependency resolution and proves both layouts and copy fallback.
Scope and authority
Implementation, deterministic proof, version bookkeeping, commit, push and final approval PR are authorized. The user authorized merge on 2026-09-23. Release, distribution, installation, live model calls and services remain excluded from this compatibility task. Do not alter routes or unrelated active PR #63.
PR #66 merged on 2026-09-23 as f127b12db61100964e0abcc8ba020006fdc1c6ef; Issue #65 closed through its closing linkage. Version 0.23.0 → 0.24.0. The merge tree 49f40ffc24512991d99758099f52b8deb54ca04b exactly matches reviewed head b9a4d4a3bc619d540b19e5ca19d71a48f4f90afa against base 7df3758d98b3537fe6f748a5b8bb8fc19a4e5ee7.
Complete proof on the unchanged tree: python3 -m unittest discover -s tests ran 499 tests with one opt-in local OpenCode discovery skip; compileall, CI version doctor, and release-check passed. Fresh independent Astra/high review found no remaining defects after the malformed-bundle regression fix. Exact merge-SHA release-check also passed from a detached checkout at the merge commit. The real AgentsMD final candidate cbd3f93719f28810ce7a72a63bf7c1f5ccf7a646 and its extracted archive pass all 40 role/host/symlink-copy combinations using this implementation.
Declared procedures-v1 bundles validate required nested direction files and fail clearly when malformed. Legacy installations still work. Actual discovered Skill inventory remains distinct from policy dependencies. No model route, role, or runner operation changed. Runtime artifacts retain their existing runner state directory.
Independent competing planner designs are captured separately in toolboxmd/chromeria#109 under the planner section of #10. That future feature is not implemented by this compatibility change.
Release and installation remain unperformed, tracked under #17. Install this compatibility before switching Model Router role kits to AgentsMD 12.0.0. Behavioral Live Verification is not claimed.
Cleanup verified: task workspace ../model-router-worktrees/agentsmd-procedure-bundle and exact local/remote branch feat/agentsmd-procedure-bundle were removed after companion AgentsMD #120 merged and released as 12.0.0. The exact AgentsMD release archive also passed all 40 combinations against merged Model Router f127b12db61100964e0abcc8ba020006fdc1c6ef. Reviewed head remains in PR #66. Canonical checkout, unrelated worktrees and PR #63 are untouched.
