2.4.2 Uninstaller Information

stairman06 edited this page May 10, 2020 · 1 revision

When updating to Minecraft Manager version 2.4.2, you may have been presented with a dialog explaining that the uninstaller program of the previous version must be ran. This will not remove any of your files. The only thing it removes is the previous version of Minecraft Manager.

Why is this necessary?

In Minecraft Manager 2.4.1 and earlier, the application was installed system-wide. Unfortunately this caused inconveniences during auto-update. In 2.4.2, the application was changed to be user-specific, and not system-wide.

Because of this change, it is necessary to uninstall the old, system-wide version. This is done at first launch of 2.4.2 and later.

This uninstallation process currently only happens on Windows.
