Claude task lists disappeared from the composer as soon as a turn settled, even when the same Claude session still had unfinished tasks. Keep that session’s unfinished list between turns and during later turns; hide it after completion or an actually started provider/session switch. Queued and cancelled-before-start switches leave it visible.

The composer selects the newest non-superseded list by run order, using persisted task-item order for competing legacy lists within one run. Retained tasks lose the live “now” marker. Completed lists stay visible while their own turn runs, then hide. Bounded snapshots retain the newest non-superseded task list, its owner, and one latest-started run marker so reloading a long thread preserves the drawer without adding every historical plan’s run. A replacement Claude list supersedes a completed predecessor while preserving its historical task item. Other providers keep their existing active-turn behavior. This applies to the web composer and the shared desktop UI; mobile has no equivalent composer drawer.

Scope and approval

The maintainer takeover approval authorizes this focused Claude task-list lifetime behavior, including the ownership and bounded-reload fixes needed to keep it correct. This does not enable task tools or add a mobile drawer.

Verification:

• Original web suite: 56 passing. Rebuilt coverage exposed two queued/cancelled ownership failures before the fix; removing retention also fails the Claude lifecycle case.
• Independent reviews exposed old-plan ordering and bounded-history ownership regressions. The regressions failed before their production fixes. The long-history case also covers newer completion records and legacy same-run ordering. An existing adapter lifecycle case proves completed-list replacement preserves history.
• 55 web selector tests, 85 focused snapshot/transport tests and 10 selected Claude adapter tests pass (276 unrelated adapter cases skipped). The original web file had 56 cases; the server paging regression extends an existing case. Scoped server/web typechecks, targeted lint and formatting pass.
• Linux web: retained badge and drawer expansion/collapse verified, with no stale “now”. Disposable rendered states also confirm completion hides it, queued switches keep it, started switches hide it, and later same-session/interrupted turns keep it.
• UI proof uses an isolated synthetic conversation, without invoking a real Claude provider. This Linux browser has no usable default fonts; the same temporary local font override is applied to both captures and is excluded from source control.
• Not verified: a live Claude task-tool session, macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, or Electron desktop. The adapter’s existing in-memory task-map recovery after server restart remains outside this composer change.

Claude's task list outlives a turn by design, but the drawer treats it as turn-scoped, so open tasks vanish between turns (before/after above). It serves as progress tracking for both the agent and the user, so hiding it seems like a bug to me.

Is keeping an unfinished Claude list visible until it's done OK with you, or would you prefer it for all providers or not at all? Happy to adjust, or just leave it be and close the PR.
