DOTE Lego Demo Project v1.1.0

To help you get started using DOTE, we have crafted a demo project with seven example transcripts that can be imported into the latest release of DOTE. This Demo contains some Transcript Clips to illustrate some of the new functionality of DOTE that are derived from DOTEbase.

• Download the complete Lego Demo Project. The file is big (1.4 GB) so it will take time to download.
• If you haven't already, download and install DOTE and/or purchase a license to the PRO or PRO COMMUNITY Edition on our webshop.
• Select Import Project from File from the File menu and locate the Lego Demo Project file that you downloaded.
• Select a destination folder for the Project.
• The import will take some time, depending on the speed of your computer storage. It is best to use an SSD drive.
• Open the transcripts to see how DOTE can be used to work with multiple videos and two types of transcription systems.
• Not that users of the free Edition of DOTE will not be able to fully explore all of the transcripts unless they purchase and activate a PRO or PRO COMMUNITY license.

Spot the errors game

Included in the Demo Project are two bonus versions of the transcripts (Jeffersonian and Mondadaian) that are full of errors, notwithstanding the errors in the original.
It is a fun game to spot the errors (DOTE will help you) and correct them.

• Open each Transcript and find/correct the errors. The errors in the Mondadaian version are harder to find, since they may not all appear in the editor.
• Some of the errors are signalled by a Transcript Clip. Make sure you have Display Clips toggled on at the top right of the DOTE window.
• The task can be made harder (eg. without help from DOTE) by toggling off errors and warnings!
• If you have set up Checkpoints, then you can peek at each Checkpoint (cheat sheet) to see a description of the error and a comparison with the original to show the changes that made the error.
• This game is fun to play with the family during seasonal holidays! 🥳

• User-defineable timing of jump forward/backward for audiovisual playback in Settings (eg. defaults are 1 sec or 4 sec).
• User-defineable frame-rate (fps) for audiovisual playback in Settings to enable accurate frame advance (eg. default is 30 fps).
• Simple speed control for slow or fast playback (0.25x, 0.5x, 0.75x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x).
  • A better and more functional UI will be implemented in a later full release.
• While updating DOTE, FFmpeg will automatically be downloaded again if and only if you had already done so with the older version of DOTE (see Settings).
  • If FFmpeg is installed by DOTE, it can be manually removed (in Settings).
