DOTE v1.0.4 update

This release is an update with some bug fixes and some new features. The release is the complete software required for any Edition. The free Edition has some restrictions. Purchasing the DOTE Pro or DOTE Pro Community license will unlock the premium features. See our webshop for more details.

• To install for the first time, download DOTE for your operating system and follow the installation instructions.
• To update your current version of DOTE, download the latest version and install as if for the first time. DOTE will be updated, keeping all your settings and options. You do not need to uninstall DOTE first.

You can download the release version appropriate for your computer operating system below:

• DOTE-win-x64-1.0.4.exe -- for Windows 10/11.
• DOTE-osx-x64-1.0.4.dmg -- for macOS Intel x64.
• DOTE-osx-arm64-1.0.4.dmg -- for macOS Apple Silicon M-series.
  • Note: We have removed the Catalina release because it is no longer required. Just install the macOS Intel x64 release.

We have also created a demo project that you can download and import into DOTE.

New Features

• Allow multi-file select in Media Manager for both adding and deleting media.
• Add rename/delete project or transcript in Project Manager (formerly Open Transcript panel).
• Add drag handles for adjusting current selection in the Timelines.
• Add Import Transcript from JSON function to import 3rd party transcripts, eg. MacWhisper (PRO feature only).
• Add corrupted transcript recovery from Autobackups when certain files are missing or damaged.
  • Add corrupted transcript recovery in special case when no Autobackups found for corrupted Transcript.
• Implement atomic file saving to minimize data corruption in special circumstances (invisible to user).
• Improvements to the UI (eg. welcome screen, hover texts, license errors).

Bugs Squashed

• Bug fix: Save As New Transcript error in special circumstances.
• Bug fix: Missing waveform refresh in special circumstances.
• Bug fix: Reset license for current computer when license fails in special circumstances.

Known Issues

• Some complex neighbourhoods in a transcript using Mondadaian conventions are not realigned correctly.
• False positive errors reported with some complex neighbourhoods in a transcript using Mondadaian conventions.
