The five summit pages now live on Open Visualization. Replace deck.gl's duplicate Madrid 2022, New York 2023, London 2024, Seattle 2025, and Zürich 2026 event pages with redirects to the corresponding
https://www.openvisualization.org/summits/...URLs.Redirects preserve query strings and agenda anchors, include canonical links, and offer a no-JavaScript refresh and visible fallback link. Remove the old styles, New York header image, and Madrid map assets after verifying their copies in Open Visualization byte-for-byte. No new dependencies are needed: Docusaurus copies these small static redirect pages into its build.
Validation:
yarn test-websitepassed with the redirect pages in the original checkout (existing HTML-minifier and documentation-anchor warnings). Verified all five generated redirect files and executed their scripts to check destination URLs, queries, and fragments. Asset-copy comparisons andgit diff --checkpassed. The full website build was not repeated after deleting the unused assets.Deployment ordering: Open Visualization's summit pages must be live before these redirects deploy. This PR redirects in the browser; it does not configure HTTP 301 responses at the host.
Note
Low Risk
Static site content and asset removal with browser redirects; no runtime or security-sensitive code paths, though old bookmarked URLs depend on Open Visualization being live first.
Overview
Replaces deck.gl’s duplicate Open Visualization Collaborator Summit landing pages (Madrid 2022, New York 2023, London 2024, and the same pattern for Seattle 2025 / Zürich 2026) with minimal static redirect stubs that send visitors to
https://www.openvisualization.org/summits/....Each stub uses
window.location.replace(keepingsearchandhashfor agenda links), a noscript meta refresh, a canonical URL,noindex, and a short fallback link. The large agenda/venue HTML and related summit CSS are removed; Madrid’s embedded deck.gl map (map/HTML, CSS, JS) is deleted as unused. These are client-side redirects only—no server 301 configuration in this change.
