Review comments at @crates/engine/src/cmd/pathops.rs:
- Line 655: Update the Outline Stroke fill-copy logic around the NodeKind::Path
assignment so closed compound contours retain their child paths for Group
Selection. Avoid flattening compounds when no contours need removal; for mixed
compounds, remove only open members while preserving the retained compound
structure.

Reviewed at 8edc678, with the full diff read; I found no defect in the change. outline_strokes keeps only closed contours for the fill, drops the fill when none remain, and the tests cover the open, closed and mixed cases plus undo and redo.
The FreeBSD build + test job fails at this head, but not in code this PR touches: tests::remote_connect_fails_fast in crates/mcp/src/tests.rs:743 asserts that connecting to 127.0.0.1:{port} fails, and it did not. That looks like a port in use on the runner, not a regression from this change. All the pathops tests in the job passed.

A re-run of that job should clear it; I can approve once it is green.
What and why
Outline Stroke consumes the implicit fill of open contours, producing the stroke outline alone. Closed contours retain their fill, including tiny and self-crossing paths; mixed paths retain only closed-contour fills. Closed compound fill copies keep their separately editable members, fill rule and names. Open-only members are removed, and partly open members retain their closed contours. Existing saved outlined groups are unchanged.
How it was tested
cargo xtask cigates pass for exact source tree7a4946a1944008c210b3d522fa501ae5f08bb57e: 8,576 passed, 0 failed, 13 ignored.Paired release CLI measurements use 50,000 synthetic paths, four raster/Rayon threads, and two executions per build in ABBA order after idle checks. Observed upstream → candidate medians: fit 70.60 → 70.39 ms; background refresh 70.80 → 71.06 ms; 400% zoom 23.09 → 23.91 ms; Pathfinder Unite 35.26 → 37.88 ms. The 400% row exceeds its 16 ms budget in both builds; all other measured rows are within their stated budgets. These samples do not establish statistical significance or continuous native input latency.
Related: #2634 changes the same helper for geometry-effect ordering. The updated three-way text probe still has 1 conflict block(s); no combined-tree build/test or semantic compatibility pass is claimed.
