Welcome to the NinjaPBR Wiki!

Logo

NinjaPBR is an opensource photobioreactor to study the growth of cyanobacteria and microalgae in liquid cultures. It allows the online measurement of the number of cells under changing environmental conditions, such as Light-Dark patterns.

##Concept The idea of NinjaPBR is to combine standard laboratory equipment with open-source components to yield a fast and simple to contruct, cost-effective, multi-purpose cultivation systems for photoautotrophic microorganisms, allowing online-measurement of critical parameters.

The most important parameter is the cell density, which is captured via absorption spectroscopy. In addition, the temperature is measured. Optional extensions include off-gas analysis using commercial optical sensors available for, e.g. O2, CO2 quantification.
