rule.I think f-strings are faster, but micro-optimisations usually have negligible influence on overall performance. As usual, the rule is more about consistency, standardising on the faster, and supposedly more readable, variant. Readability is often subjective, despite efforts towards objective assessment, such as Assessing code readability in Python programming courses using eye-tracking.
