Shortly I will add a Max32 Setup guide with added links to Bill of Materials for each setup.

Some things that need proper documentation:

Need a source for the metric bolts to connect both the Network Shield and Max32 together.

Need sizing for spacers

Parts List - Originally from OpenXCPlatform site.

  • BlueSMiRF Module

  • Angled connector pins OR jumper cables soldered directly to the BlueSMiRF

  • Digilent chipKIT Max32 Microcontroller

  • Digilent chipKIT Network Shield

  • OBD-II Male to Breakout Cable

  • (3x) 2x6 Crimp Connector Housings

  • (4x) Female crimp pins from Pololu

  • (1x) Male crimp pin from Pololu

  • Shrink tubing

  • Rubber cable grommet that fits the OBD-II cable (HomeDepot has a few but they are not quite small enough,

  • adding an additional amount of shrink tubing can make up the difference for this.)

  • Optional - Enclosure from PacTec

  • Optional - Mounting spacers for use with the enclosure (Home Depot has some that fit quite well)

Tools List

This is a list of the tools needed to assemble the kit.

  1. Wire stripper

  2. Wire crimper

  3. Heat gun (or lighter)

  4. Multimeter for continuity testing

  5. Optional - label maker

  6. For the suggested enclosure, you'll also need the following:

  7. Angle cutters

  8. Phillips head screw driver

  9. Tools for etching and cutting plastic - Radio Shack has a solder kit that can do this, but it's cleaner to use a proper drill and small saw.

  10. Drill
