User Story

• As a mail user, I want to view the mailbox tree, so that I have an overview of my accounts
• As a mail user, I want to navigate my mailbox tree, so that I can see contents of other mailboxes

• I can open a menu which shows a full tree with the following nodes:

• clicking on a Mailbox

  • first indentation level = mailboxes (e.g. Inbox, Draft, Sent, etc, but also manually created Mailboxes)
  • navigates into that mailbox
  • closes the menu
  • loads the list of mails for the selected mailbox

Note: Mailbox sometimes also is referred to as Mail Folder. We use the term Mailbox as stalwart also uses it. Get used to it. :-)

each mailbox node is expanded by default, down into the leafs of the tree

you talk about this view (lets say with sobfolders in "inbox" "drafts" etc.) right?

I'd not expand down to all leafes mainly because thats the current standard behaviour in tree navigation and to provide a as clean as possible first view.

Ok, that's fine by me.

But: that has the drawback of needing a dedicated action in the mailbox list view for navigating into a sub-mailbox without opening the list of emails for it. Otherwise you'd need to open the mailbox navigation menu again and again on subsequent navigations to sub-mailboxes.

@kulmann @tbsbdr did we talked about tree navigation vs. drilldown navigation ( elements ) i like first view of apple mail ( default open the tree for the first email account with all default supfolders ) ...

Can we please use this ticket for mailbox navigation (all emails, inbox, draft, spam...) and create a follow-up ticket for the account navigation cc @kulmann @db-ot
