MusicXML import unexpectedly uses Edwin font for Roman Numeral Analysis → RMA entry is not producing superscript diminished symbol or 7th

1. Select a note.
2. Add -> Text -> Roman numeral analysis
3. Enter "viio7" or "vii07"
4. Hit Enter
5. Observe that the o/0 (dimished/half-diminished) and "7" are not raised symbols.

Looks like you may have tried using an unsupported font instead of Campania. That won't work - the formatting is part of that font. Reset back to the default and it should be fine.

The default font under Ubuntu is Edwin, not Campania.

But switching the chord symbol text style to Campania has no effect. Here's the example.

It's not the chord symbol style that you need to reset back to the default of Campania; it's the Roman numeral analysis style. The default font for RNA should be Campania regardles sof which Linux variant you use - it's built into the AppImage that way. So be sure you are in fact using the AppImage and not an unsupported third party build.

Confirmed that Campania works, when I change to it. But I beg to differ on the AppImage default. I am using the official AppImage, and the default RNA font is Edwin. This was confirmed on two separate laptops running the AppImage, one which I had never touched MuseScore until entering these RNA, when I first saw the problem.

How are you creating this score? Are you choosing individual instruments, or using a template? Please describe your steps in more detail.

AHHHHHH. I created it from an xml! If I simply select "Guitar" as an instrument on a clean score, the RMA does indeed default to Campania. Not sure how it got turned into Edwin from what I did but that does explain the issue! Closing, thanks!

Maybe it would still be good if someone investigated why MusicXML import apparently reverts these to Edwin. In importmusicxmlpass1.cpp, static void updateStyles looks suspicious.
