Summary

Add GitHub Actions and GitLab CI examples that update the official bootstrap and general catalog versions, run kubara generate, and open or update a PR/MR when configuration or generated artifacts change.

  • Add a reusable GitHub action with version, CLI arguments, and working-directory inputs.
  • Support daily and manual GitHub runs and manual GitLab runs.
  • Add --github-actions and --gitlab-ci options to kubara catalog create for catalog validation pipelines.
  • Document setup, permissions, and usage, and add automated checks.

Closes #573.

Change type

  • CLI or Go code
  • Documentation
  • Tests or CI
  • Refactor or cleanup

Breaking change

  • This changes existing behaviour. I explained the migration or impact above.

How I tested it

  • ShellCheck on the added shell scripts and extracted GitLab publication script.
  • Verified kubara init and kubara generate, followed by Helm and Terraform validation in CI.
  • Validated the GitHub workflow examples with actionlint.

Notes for reviewers

  • Update examples require explicit stable catalog version pins and repository write permissions.
  • Generated catalog pipelines check schema loading and packaging; they do not publish releases.

How about "Kubara-action"?

wouldn't this become deadcode now? there isn't any other reference to it.

Totally my mistake, I'll delete right away 🙇🏻‍♀️💦

wouldn't it be better to have those two as options for kubara init like the renovate file we automatically add?

That makes sense. I'll add both as options to kubara init, following the Renovate setup.

@tuunit Removed the unused CreateCatalog wrapper. Both update pipelines can now be generated through kubara init --github-actions or --gitlab-ci, along with the required scripts.

Looks like we had a similar idea around the same time 😄 I opened #676 to run kubara generate on config changes and commit the generated artifacts back to the same PR, with Renovate handling catalog version updates.

Yours covers more ground with GitLab support and the reusable action. Might be worth aligning the two approaches!
