Write C# version of the "First 3D Game" tutorial

The new 3D game tutorial only has code blocks in GDScript at this point. It'd be nice to have at least the demo and code blocks in C# for C# developers.

C# code blocks were added in #4724. Do we want to have a repository for the C# version of the project or is this issue good to be closed?

I think having a repo for the demo would be good.

@mhilbrunner In that case I could put together the project quickly with the code blocks from the tutorial. But the GDScript version is a godotengine repository so someone else would have to add it.

The idea was rather to have all versions in the same repo. You can add a C# version directly to https://github.com/godotengine/godot-3d-dodge-the-creeps

It's best to keep all in the same repo because we should update GDScript and C# and the docs as needed - for instance port both when Godot 4 comes out.

issue on the first code block:

Step 1:
when adding a c# script to the project the default template contains:
// ...
using System.Numerics;
using Godot;

This leads to:

Step 2:
when declaring
// ...
private Vector3 _velocity = Vector3.Zero;

and building the project, you get a
"vector3 is ambiguous reference" error.

Possible solution:
// ...
private Godot.Vector3 _velocity = Godot.Vector3.Zero;

EDIT:
later down the file:

5th if block:
// ...
if (direction != Vector3.Zero)
{
direction = direction.Normalized();
GetNode("Pivot").LookAt(Translation + direction, Vector3.Up);
}

->
if (direction != Godot.Vector3.Zero)
{
direction = direction.Normalized();

Last line:

@ZeHipo the generated C# file should not contain using System.Numerics;
In fact, the code that generates the C# file should always generate it like this:

using Godot;
using System;

I was unable to find any reference to System.Numerics in the documentation. Can you describe in more detail how you are adding a C# script to the project and maybe what IDE you are using?

@raulsntos I just created a new C# file to check and it behaves just like you described, only generating

using Godot;
using System;

and it builds just like written in the tutorial.

I am using VScode. After creating my first script (of the project) in Godot it opened up in VScode and generated

using System.Threading.Tasks;
using System.Collections.Specialized;
using System.Numerics;
using Godot;
using System;

VScode complained about problems with the project and Omnisense(I think?), and the warning didn't go away when restarting VScode. But it went away when quitting and restarting Godot, so I don't have the warning no more for reference.

EDIT:
I created a new project. When creating a new C# file in Godot VSCode gives me a "OmniSharp.MSBuild.ProjectManager Failed to load project file" but building the project in Godot makes it go away. It didn't generate the additional imports this time.

This means of course this is not an issue with the docs.

It sounds to me like some VSCode configuration or extension is adding those automatically, I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
