Although it's possible to move windows around by creating custom fvwm functions, there's some operations which are common enough they should live in fvwm itself.

At the moment, it's possible to move windows around and have them snap to each other (SnapAttraction). The Move or ResizeMove command should be augmented to allow one to move a window in a given direction (up, down, left, and right), such that it:

  • Either warps to the next window's closest edge;
  • Warps to the nearest monitor boundary

... whichever of those is closest for a given direction. If there is no window in a given direction, the closest monitor boundary should be used. Repeated calls to move a window in any given direction should stop when the outer-most monitor boundary in that direction is hit.
