Xmp.dc.creator no longer supported?

Is there an existing issue for this?

• I checked and did not find my issue in the already reported ones

Describe the bug

the field Xmp.dc.creator in the watermark module shows as "$(Xmp.dc.creator)" and no longer as the contents of that field in version 5.2 contrarily to version 5.0.1 that worked fine

Steps to reproduce

1. go to the watermark module
2. select "simple-text (svg)
3. set text as "©$(EXIF.DATE.LONG_YEAR) $(Xmp.dc.creator)"
4. on the central view the copyright and date text show as expected but the creator text shows as "$(Xmp.dc.creator)"

Expected behavior

darktable should parse "$(Xmp.dc.creator)" and show the creator text

The new metadata editor allows to use all used tags as variables by the last part of the tag name.

So to get the value of Xmp.dc.creator use $(CREATOR) as the variable name.

Sorry but that is only from now on, it seems 5.2.0 does not support any backward compatibility All my photos from before 5.2.0 now show $(Xmp.dc.creator) instead of the creator’s name stored in the Exif data My watermarks are stored as presets but updating them to use $(CREATOR) does not work for older photos

So the solution would be to use the full tagname $(XMP.DC.CREATOR) as the variable name.

Yes, you need to support both (xmp.dc.creator and creator) so that you are backward compatible and, remembered now, you support the import of sidecar files created by software other than dt
