React Virtualized requires mouse movement

I have tried applying react-sortable-hoc to a react virtualized grid. When I drag something and then pause, all of the cells take up the area left by the old cell and no longer move.

I did some basic analysis why this happens, but couldn't get to the root cause quickly. Would be great to get some pointers from someone more familiar with this library. It's probably a minor thing because initially it works as expected.
