TableViz uses epoch dates #6563
Conversation
This may have to do with the "Annotations" feature in line chart supporting Table viz as input, which is a bit of a hack and may break with this PR. Arguably this should use the time format specified for the column and/or having a UI control to let the user specify the format they want. |
Aah right, did't think about that dependency. But I believe that annotation feature uses moment to parse time https://github.com/apache/incubator-superset/blob/6e942c9fb35ac323cb6760b924c7d65e553e1601/superset/assets/src/visualizations/nvd3/NVD3Vis.js#L775 So it would work with both epoch times and standard date/times formats. |
@mistercrunch Any thoughts? Line chart annons seems use moment library to parse dates and it would work fine with standard date/time formats |
This should be fine then. |

This is a request for comment on an approach that works. Let me know if you can think of better ideas as to how to manage this. My current solution looks for 8000+ characters URLs and shrinks them to only `/superset/explore/?URL_IS_TOO_LONG_TO_SHARE&form_data=...` and we only keep the formData keys for `datasource` and `viz_type`. Theres also this another PR which takes different angle. #5365
TableViz uses json_int_dttm_ser for grouped columns and json_iso_dttm_ser for non-grouped. This was originally introduced in 0ec9cd4 commit.
This PR uses just json_iso_dttm_ser serializer for everything.
