How to reproduce

When creating an application using the Airflow 3.0.0 Helm chart, what is the reason for the following condition?

{{- if and .Values.webserver.enabled (semverCompare "<3.0.0" .Values.airflowVersion) }}

Because of this condition, Ingress is not being created when using Airflow version 3.0.0.
Is this the intended behavior?

hijacking this issue to ask a question related to the topic:

is the Helm Chart 1.16.0 compatible with airflow 3, or is a new chart release meant for Airflow 3.x.x supposed to be happening soon?

my goal is just to avoid wasting time tuning my existing values.yaml for Airflow 3 when they may be changed drastically in a newer chart release.

Yes it is. Update airflowVersion and defaultAirflowTag to 3.0.0

Forgive my ignorace. Unless I'm mistaken, chart 1.16.0 does not include api-server-ingress.yaml currently under templates/api-server (at least when I use helm pull on the repo, the .tgz file doesn't have that template.

Are you suggesting updating the values.yaml override while installing directly from github, or am I missing some context?

Is there a plan to release a new chart soon that will support ingress for the api-server "out of the box"?

It was added in #49727. The Chart 1.17.0 will be released soon ( cc @jedcunningham )
