This change should mimic what done in the 3.x and master branches to fix the various CVEs related to log4j. The Apache Bigtop project used the same patch on top of 2.3.6 (released with Bigtop 1.5) and all our build/smoke-tests passed.

Release 2.3.9-1.0 was actually based on 2.3.10-SNAPSHOT
The snapshot was 'taken' on the upstream branch-2.3, at the time when it was 2.3.9 + the 3 fixes included in this PR.
Now I created a proper 2.3.9-TDP branch, based on the released 2.3.9 tag.
The question is do we include the previously included fixes ? I dont feel good about removing commits in a release.
But since we dont deploy hive 2, i may overthink this. I'm OK with just dropping the PR.
