After the check's answer asks for several views, "I can't get there" on one of them used to stop the loop: the next upload showed the result, so "2 more views to finish" delivered only one view. Now it skips only the current view: the next answer raises the next item it lists, and the result shows once none is left. Each item is raised at most once per pass (GapPlanner.nextServerRequest); a past-end item is known by its side, since raising it clears the end and it comes back with a different request. A new "Show my result" button on the follow-up request stops early, and the skip button's VoiceOver hint says where it leads. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Resolves the GapPlanner/ScanEngine conflicts with #47: the selector now passes limitEnds, matches requests by view with a tolerance (same band and need, reach within 0.1 m, 80% span overlap), and publishes how many views it will actually raise as state.followUps. 'Show my result' shows only when more than one view is left. Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Stacks this branch on PR #49 at its current head, on top of the current t3/ios-mvf. The merge had no conflicts. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
upload() set .analyzing, decoded the answer, set .done and went to the result in one turn of the main actor, so on an upload that goes straight to the result "Check clearances" never showed its spinner or its tick. - It records when the screen moved to "Check clearances" and, after decoding, waits out the rest of analyzingMinimum (0.6 s) before .done (UploadPacing.remaining, with tests). - Without a follow-up it waits resultHold (0.8 s) after the autopilot gate before going to the result. - After each wait it checks the scan and the phase again. Both times are guesses, like followUpHold. The demo engine holds its final upload the same way. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The result's "a closer spot may exist on the left" took its side from the first past_end request, which the server lists left first, and otherwise from any unexplored end. It never compared the end with the spot, so it named the left when the spot was already on the left and nearer than that end. PlacementResult.closerUnseenEnd() picks the end instead: an unexplored end within cable reach, nearer the meter than the spot's near edge (a spot over the meter leaves none), the nearest of those; without a spot, the nearest unexplored end. The result carries the end's side and where it is, and the notice says "The scan stopped 1 ft 9 in right of your meter. A closer spot may be past there." Tests use made-up numbers. The demo's review sample carries an end, and the screen-state test checks its copy. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…#75, app half) The gap card named a server request's stretch by its middle (Distance.aroundFromMeter): "Around your meter" for a request over the whole wall, "About 19 ft right" for one from 4 ft to 33 ft. Server, ground-out and walk-out requests now say "from 4 ft to 20 ft right of your meter" or "from 13 ft left to 2 ft right of your meter" (Distance.range), clipped to the wall's marked ends. The phone's own short requests and overhead requests keep the middle. The guidance log records the same words as the card. The server half of #75 (placeholder-driven depth, saying which check a request is for) is not in this change. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…very follow-up (#39) The two open review findings on #49: - GapPlan.asksForSameView suppressed a request whose span was 80 % inside an earlier one and whose reach was within 0.1 m, so 2-9 ft after 2-8 ft, or ground out to 5.10 ft after 4.83 ft, was dropped as a duplicate. It now matches only a request whose span lies inside the earlier one and whose reach is no more than the earlier one's, each give or take 0.1 ft. Tests cover both cases through serverRequests, after a raised and a skipped request, and as two items in one answer. - "Show my result" was hidden with one view left, and the skip hint said skipping shows the result. The next upload can still bring a new request, so the button now shows on every server follow-up and the one-view hint says the scan is checked again. Also deletes the empty ios/ServerGapTests.swift that #49 added by mistake. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

Adversarial review of 5c15da8 (U9: #39, #31, #83, #75 app half). Read-only. I read the full diff, the changed files at head, #49's review thread, issues #31/#39/#75/#83 and their 4.1 evidence.
Must fix
ios/HouseScan/UI/Screens/GapRequestScreen.swift:51: the "Show my result" row is back at one view left, but the layout is unchanged, sogapRequest-followUp-AX5should fail its contrast audit again. Ate4ce503the condition was the sameif followUps > 0, state.gap?.isSatisfied != true, !asking, and the-uiDemoFollowUpfixture also had one view left (reviewSamplehas one capturable item). That head failed the audit onaction.skipGapin exactly this state. #49's own analysis gives the cause: the extra row pushes "I can't get there" past the bottom edge at AX5, andrevealCutOffcan't bring it fully into view.ce90112got past it only by hiding the row (followUps > 1). This PR puts the row back with no layout change, and the diff betweene4ce503and head for this file is one comment plus the count and hint. The PR body says so ("IfgapRequest-followUp-AX5fails again, the layout needs a fix"), but we already know the answer. Expected fix: an accessibility-size layout for the two ways out, like thetypeSize.isAccessibilitySizebranches inWallWalkScreen/MarkFeaturesScreen. For example, at AX sizes put "Show my result" in the card's reply row or aViewThatFitsbeside "I can't get there", or keep the chrome's lower stack scrollable and opaque. Then run iOS CI on the head (draft PRs get no iOS run, see below) withgapRequest-followUpand-AX5green. The multi-view AX5 case from #49's review also needs a fixture wherestate.followUps > 1.
Should fix
-
ios/HouseScanKit/Sources/HouseScanKit/Guidance/GapPlanner.swift:369-372withServerGapTests.swift:328: a request that needs more than a view the homeowner just refused is raised again without a tap.serverRequestsapplies the same "asks for no more" test toskippedas toasked, and the new test asserts that after a skipped 2-8 ft / 4.83 ft ground-out request, the 2-9 ft and 5.10 ft requests are both raised. Each needs the refused view: progress needs the wholerequestedSpanFtat the requested out (GapPlanner.progress), so neither can be met by someone who can't show the smaller one. Field scenario: in all three 4.1 runs the only view shown was the placeholder-driven 14-16 ft whole-wall ground-out request (#75), and it was refused. If the next answer recomputes itsout_ftmore than 0.1 ft higher (the depth is placeholder distance plus error, and the error can move after another upload), the same unreachable request comes back up to 5 times, one upload each. That is the #39/#82 pain this unit is meant to end. Expected fix: keep the strict rule foraskedand for items earlier in the same answer. Againstskipped, also suppress a request with the same band and kind of need whose span covers the refused span and whose reach is at least the refused reach, both within the tolerance. Flip the([asked], [asked])expectation, and keep the export'scapturablecheck as it is if you want a tap on the result to stay possible. This goes further than the brief's wording, so the lane owner may call it. Whatever they decide, the test shouldn't pin the loop in place. -
ios/HouseScan/UI/Copy/Distance.swift:74-80, used atScanCopy.swift:259: clipping at a limit end names a stretch that can't complete the request. #47 (reachesPastEnd) deliberately raises ground requests that run past a limit end, becausegroundDepthSpansrecords ground there, and progress is measured over the fullrequestedSpanFt. Run 2's request (ground 4 ft 2 in to 33 ft 2 in right, right limit end at 19 ft 9 in, 15 ft 4 in out) now reads "from 4 ft to 20 ft right of your meter". A homeowner who shows exactly that sees the bar stop at about 54 % and never finish. The old "About 19 ft right" was wrong too, but the card now claims a precise stretch that doesn't meet the request. Expected fix (a product call, so flag it for the lane owner or U8): don't clip ground at a limit end, or say the stretch runs "to past the end of the wall", or leave the clipping to the server half of #75 and name the raw span here. Clipping at an unexplored end is moot, becausereachesPastEndalready drops those requests. -
ios/HouseScan/UI/Copy/Distance.swift:82: nearest-foot rounding can name less than the request. Both ends use.rounded(), so a ground request over 2.4-7.4 ft reads "from 2 ft to 7 ft right of your meter", and the far 0.4 ft is never named. Server requests are met only over the whole span (isSatisfiedneeds progress >= 1), so a homeowner who stops at 7 ft leaves the bar short. Expected fix: round outward, with the near end's magnitude down and the far end's up (asfeetAtLeastdoes for reach), and test the straddling, all-left and all-right cases. The demo's 1.3...2.1 m still reads "from 4 ft to 7 ft".
Notes
- CI (
gh pr checks 109): only "Label PR size" (pass) and CodeRabbit (skipped, draft) ran.iOS buildis skipping because draft PRs get no PR-triggered iOS run, so no Apple toolchain has compiled this head or runswift test/ScreenStatesUITestson it. No server files changed. - Mental compile: I found no errors. I checked:
ContinuousClock.Instant-/+andDuration.seconds(Double)(the package targets iOS/macOS 26).- The
rangeswitch is exhaustive through the finalcase let (a, b), and mixing literal andlettuple patterns is valid. - The multi-pattern
case let (.groundOut(a), .groundOut(b)), let (.walkOut(a), ...)binds the same names and types in each pattern. PlacementUnseenEndispublicwith a public init.Need.asksNoMoreis internal and only reached through publicasksForSameView.metersis the local closure inpresentation(of:).showResultNowis implemented by bothScanActionsconformers (ScanEngine,DemoEngine), and nothing else conforms.- Nothing still reads
unseenSide. TheResultPresentationmemberwise order holds inDemoEngine.reviewSample. - Both
ScanCopy.gapcallers pass the wall ends. - The test helpers mutate only
public varfields. The PlacementResult, ServerGap and UploadPacing expectations trace correctly by hand. The sample's left end is -8 ft against a 3 ft spot, so it yields nil. The demo's -0.4 m end yields "1 ft 4 in left", and 1.3...2.1 m yields "From 4 ft to 7 ft right of your meter.".
- #31: the fix matches the evidence. Run 2 showed "Sending measurements, 99%" and the progress never reached 1, so
analyzingSinceis set aftersubmitreturns and gets the full 0.6 s. The holds come afterwaitForGate, and generation and phase are re-checked after each sleep. The brief asked for a UI test that "Clearances checked" appears before the result. It was dropped, with a sound reason (autopilot gates already hold the screen, and the sample client reads "Sample ready"), so the timing is only unit-tested throughUploadPacingand needs the device check listed in the body. - #83:
closerUnseenEnd()gives the right answer for run 3 (spot -5.90...-3.32 ft, left end -13.2, right end 1.75: it picks the right end). Run 1 still shows the notice until #70, as the body says. - The first case in
PlacementResultTests.swift:193uses run 3's public figures from #83, although line 167 says "Made-up numbers". These figures are public, so no rule is broken, but the comment is inaccurate. Perturb the numbers or reword the comment. DemoEngine.swift:976: the review sample says the scan stopped 1 ft 4 in left, but the demo walk's left end is -2.9 m, about 9 ft 6 in (demoLeftEnd), with a door marked at -2.6...-1.8 m. Theresult-reviewscreenshot will contradict the tape. Consider an end nearer the demo's own geometry, and keep it nearer than the spot's 0.55 m edge.state.followUpsisn't reset inresetAll/resetSpatialState. That's harmless today, because every reader is gated on a fresh write (.done, or a server gap started bybeginServerGap).- Scope: clean. There are no
project.yml/project.pbxprojedits. The strayios/ServerGapTests.swiftnets to zero against the base. There is no server change, no #76 gating and no #82 walk finish. There is one commit per issue on top of the #49 merge. - Public-repo check: the diff, PR body and commit messages contain no names, meter numbers or serials, addresses, emails,
private/content or media. - PR body: it has Fixes #39/#31/#83, Part of #75, the base, stacking on #49, local vs CI/device-only verification, files touched, dependencies and the attribution line.

@AidenJohnston Independent review at 5c15da8 confirms the wider-span/stricter-reach dedup and persistent result-button fixes. One remaining correctness finding matches the existing review: Distance.swift:75-82 clips and rounds the displayed span, but GapPlanner requires the full server ground span and permits it beyond a limit end. A roughly 4.17...33.17 ft request with a 19.75 ft limit says 4...20 ft, leaving required ground unnamed. Separately 2.4...7.4 ft rounds to 2...7 ft. Please preserve the full capturable ground request and round outward, with regressions for both cases. The restored action row needs AX5 validation, but its presence alone does not prove an accessibility regression. Suppressing skipped supersets would change the accepted stricter-coverage behavior, so that existing suggestion is not required for this finding. Current-head iOS is draft-skipped; no runtime pass or clearance claimed. |

Challenger review of 5c15da8 (U9: #39, #31, #83, #75 app half)
I read the diff against t3/ios-mvf, the four commits on top of the #49 merge, the full changed files, #49's review thread, and the 4.1 evidence in #31, #39, #75 and #83 plus the public run analyses. I checked the Swift by reading it through as the compiler would: HouseScanKit access levels, switch exhaustiveness, MainActor use, the ScanActions conformers, and every caller of ScanCopy.gap, ResultPresentation.unseenEnd, nextAutomaticGap / automaticGapQueue and Need.isNear. I also traced the new ServerGapTests and PlacementResultTests cases by hand against asksForSameView and closerUnseenEnd, and every expectation holds. No server files changed, so the server checks don't apply.
Must fix
gapRequest-followUp-AX5will very likely fail the contrast audit again. This is the known failure from #49 (GapRequestScreen.swift:51-63, audited byScreenStatesUITests.swift:312). On this head the follow-up state has the same layout ase4ce503: the-uiDemoFollowUpfixture setsfollowUps = 1, and the "Show my result" row now renders atfollowUps > 0.e4ce503failed CI in run 36276179058 withgapRequest-followUp-AX5: Contrast failed (id 'action.skipGap' label 'I can't get there').CameraChrome,InstructionCardandrevealCutOffhaven't changed since then. The card's title also got longer: "Show the ground from 4 ft to 7 ft right of your meter" replaces "about 6 ft right". So at AX5 the reply is pushed down at least as far as it was when it failed. The PR body names this risk but ships no mitigation. Fix expected: before this leaves draft, change the chrome's layout at accessibility sizes, the way #49's pre-CI note suggested (typeSize.isAccessibilitySize, as inWallWalkScreen/MarkFeaturesScreen): put the two ways out in one row, or move "Show my result" below the tape. Then get a green iOS run on the head coveringgapRequest-followUpandgapRequest-followUp-AX5, and link the run in the body.
Should fix
ScreenStatesUITests.swift:313checks.exists, but the #49 acceptance asked for "visible and hittable".existsis true for a button pushed off the bottom edge at AX5, which is exactly the failure above. So this assertion can pass while the homeowner can't reach "Show my result". AssertisHittableafter the reveal scroll, or at least at default size.- The base has moved 4 commits since the #49 merge (
bc5a1ac,94e87b5,a8bd17a,f14947e), andbc5a1acrewrites the audit loop this PR'scontrolscheck sits in.git merge-treereports a clean merge, but merget3/ios-mvfbefore the CI run so the audit code under test is current. - There's no iOS run on this head. The PR-triggered
iOS buildjob was skipped because the PR is a draft. Nothing here has been built. Every Swift claim (swift testforServerGapTests/PlacementResultTests/UploadPacingTests, the app build,ScreenStatesUITests) is still device- or CI-only, and the body says so correctly.
Notes
- #31 (
ScanEngine.swift:1421-1462) looks right.analyzingSinceis taken either from the progress callback'sfraction >= 1(all bytes sent) or at the answer, so a slow server spends none of the 0.6 s. Each wait re-checksscan == generation && phase == .uploading, and aCancellationErrorfrom a restarted upload returns quietly.resultHoldcomes afterwaitForGate(.uploading)as the brief asked.upload()is only reached throughstartUpload()(go(.uploading)), so the phase guard can't strand a legitimate path. The brief's UI test for "Clearances checked" was skipped with a stated reason: the sample client reads "Sample ready" and the autopilot gates already hold the screen. I accept the reason, but the fix needs a device look. - #39 (
GapPlanner.swift:358-391). Both of #49's findings are addressed, and the test cases match the brief. One remaining risk: the 0.1 ft tolerance is a guess. If the server's error margins widen by more than 0.1 ft after a skip, as the spot re-solves with the skipped stretch sent to review, the refused view comes back as a "new" one, up to the 5-request cap. That is the #82 many-taps pattern. "Show my result" is now always there as a way out, so this isn't blocking, but watch for it in the next field run. - #83 (
PlacementResult.swift:645-665) matches the brief and run 3. For a spot at -5.9 to -3.3 ft, a left end at -13.2 ft and a right end at 1.75 ft, it names the right end. Run 1's end, about 1 ft from the meter, is still named until #70 is decided, as the body says. Minor:PlacementResultTestscalls its numbers "made-up", but the first case is run 3's numbers from public #83. That's harmless, since nothing private is involved. - Demo consistency (
DemoEngine.swift:976).reviewSample.unseenEndis at -0.4 m ("The scan stopped 1 ft 4 in left"), but the demo walk marks its left end at -2.9 m, and the sample's gas meter is "well to the left of the spot". The CI screenshots and any demo will show a notice that contradicts the tape. Consider moving the demo's left end, or noting in a comment that this is a copy fixture only. - #75 (
Distance.swift:69-99). Every case of the(lowFeet, highFeet)switch is reachable, and it's exhaustive through the finallet (a, b). A past_end request isn't collapsed by the clip, becausebeginServerGapclears that end before the card readsstate.wall.Distance.rangehas no unit test, only the onegapRequest-groundOutUI expectation (4.27 to 6.89 ft gives "From 4 ft to 7 ft", which I checked). - Scope and public-repo rules. There are no
project.ymlorproject.pbxprojedits, and the new files sit in synced folders or the SwiftPM package. There is no #76 gating, no walk-phase finish and no server change. No names, meter numbers, addresses, emails,private/content or media appear in the diff, the commit messages or the PR body. The PR body has Fixes / Part of, the base and stacking, verified vs CI/device-only, files touched, dependencies and the attribution line. gh pr checks 109: PR size passes.iOS buildand Aikido were skipped (draft), and CodeRabbit skipped the draft.

At AX5 the follow-up card reaches the bottom edge, and with "Show my result" directly under its "I can't get there" reply the audit failed the reply's contrast (CI run 36276179058). At accessibility sizes the button now goes below the tape, so the space under the card matches the layout that passed. At other sizes it stays above the progress, within thumb reach. The screen-state test now asserts the follow-up's two controls can be tapped: where they are at the default size, and after scrolling to them at AX5. The demo's unseen-end fixture is marked as fixed copy, not taken from the demo walk. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

@AidenJohnston Bounded review at a44780a: moving Show my result below the tape at accessibility sizes targets the observed action.skipGap contrast case. The lead reports the combined candidate6f5d1aa run36299913974 failed ScreenStatesUITests.swift:431 on gapRequest-followUp-AX5, Contrast on action.skipGap; package/build and the other UI flows passed. That candidate used the older #109 head, so this is not evidence against your current repair. Please verify that exact state in your already queued manual36301434221 and retain the screenshot/audit evidence. No extra retry requested. The ground range-copy finding remains open: this correction does not change Distance.range clipping/rounding. It is a separate source issue, not proof that the observed contrast is unresolved by this layout repair. |

Preserve ground spans that cross limit ends
When a server ground-band request partially crosses an end marked as a limit, GapPlanner.reachesPastEnd deliberately allows it because ground coverage is recorded beyond limit ends (GapPlanner.swift:253-265). Clipping every instruction here shortens, for example, a requested 3–5 m span to 3–4 m when the wall ends at 4 m, while gap progress still requires the original 3–5 m span. A homeowner following the displayed range can therefore never satisfy the request; only wall requests, or requests rejected for crossing an unexplored end, should be clipped.

Conflicts: the export's capturable check takes the base's capturable(item) closure, and the automatic queue keeps GapPlanner.serverRequests with the base's sourceState.mayCapture guard and captureCanSettle filter. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Brings the two #39 fixes Sam asked for on this branch: a follow-up that asks for more span or reach is a new view (asksForSameView), and "Show my result" on every server follow-up. #109 carries the same commit, so the two branches share it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Ported from #109 (a44780a). With the button back on every follow-up, the one-view state has the extra row that failed the reply's contrast at AX5 (CI run 36276179058). At accessibility sizes the button now goes below the tape, so the space under the card matches the layout that passed. The screen-state test asserts the follow-up's two controls can be tapped, after scrolling to them at AX5. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…result Brings #49's merge of the current base. Conflicts: - ScanEngine.upload: the #31 resultHold wait, then the base's presentAnswer (spot check) instead of going straight to the result. DemoEngine the same. - ResultScreen: the base's redesigned layout; its unseen-side footnote now shows #83's unseenEnd copy. ScanCopy.unseenSide is unused again and removed. - ScreenStatesUITests: expectations hold a list per state, so result-review checks both the base's headline and #83's unexplored-end copy. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Distance.range clipped a request's span to the wall's marked ends and rounded each end to the nearest foot. GapPlanner raises a ground request that runs past a limit end, and meets it only over its whole requested span, so run 2's 4.17...33.17 ft request with a limit end at 19.75 ft read "from 4 ft to 20 ft right of your meter" and the bar could never finish. Nearest-foot rounding also dropped ends: 2.4...7.4 ft read "2 ft to 7 ft". RequestStretch.wholeFeet (HouseScanKit) now names the whole span, the lower end rounded down and the upper end up, within the server's 0.01 ft coverage tolerance. ScanCopy.gap no longer takes the wall's ends. Tests cover both review cases, all-left, all-right and straddling spans, whole feet, and a sweep that the named feet always cover the span. Conflict: upload() takes the base's snapshot loop (AnswerFreshness). After it, the answer sets state.followUps from automaticGapQueue before .done, and the next request is automaticGapQueue(result).first. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…iew (#39) asksForSameView let a reach move 0.1 ft like the span, so ground out to 6.59 ft after the same span out to 6.50 ft counted as the same view and was never raised, and after a skip its capture action stayed off, though progress needs the requested out_ft itself. The span keeps the 0.1 ft tolerance; a reach may be no farther than the earlier one's, compared on the server's out_ft when both have one, else in meters within float noise. Tests: 6.59 ft after 6.50 ft through serverRequests after a raised and a skipped request and as two items in one answer; the refused-view test now moves the span only, and a farther reach after a refusal is raised. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The autopilot writes how each request the server's answers raised ended (server-requests.json in the gate folder). testCantGetThereEndsWhereThePhoneIs now asserts a request is raised after a skipped one, and the new testShowMyResultEndsTheRequests taps "Show my result" on the first (-autopilotShowResult) and asserts no other request is raised before the result. "Show my result" appears and goes at once (.identity), like the card's reply, so no faded frame meets the contrast audit. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Brings the base at 6be087d through #49. Conflicts: - ScanEngine.upload: the base's snapshot loop (AnswerFreshness), with #31 ported into it: analyzingSince resets on each attempt before submit and is set when its bytes are sent, the analyzingMinimum wait comes after the loop before .done, and resultHold before presentAnswer, both in the base's guard (try? await Task.sleep(...)) form. - ScreenStatesUITests: the base's wallWalk-fullLegend expectation, in the list format. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
SceneUnits.coverageToleranceFt replaces the literal 0.01 in GapPlanner.fraction and reachesPastEnd, and RequestStretch.toleranceFt now reads it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

@AidenJohnston One P2 remains at Please preserve the existing S3/spot-check freshness owner's repair when integrating this branch, and check freshness after the waits before consuming the answer. A regression should change geometry during the hold and verify that the stale answer is not presented. This is independently source-verified by the caretaker and a fresh reviewer; no device reproduction is claimed. The stricter-reach fix is verified in both #49 and #109. The new engine-flow tests cover skip continuing and show-result stopping requests through autopilot actions. They do not by themselves establish button hittability or live capture behavior. Integration clarification: independently checked S3 |

Recheck answer freshness after every upload wait.
AnswerFreshness.of(...) runs before the new analyzing and result waits. applySpatialUpdate(...) can increment spatialRevision during those waits. The code can then present the old answer or plan a follow-up request against changed geometry.
The follow-up hold also needs this check. That hold existed in the base, but the new analyzing and result holds add new stale-answer windows.
Do not use return startUpload() as shown. It creates a new upload with resends = 0, so repeated spatial changes can bypass AnswerFreshness.resendLimit and retry indefinitely. Preserve the resend count through the existing upload loop, or reject the answer with UploadFailure.stillChanging.

Keep “Show my result” available during overhead questions.
A server-originated overhead gap can set asking while the result remains available. This condition then hides both “Show my result” and “I can't get there”. OverheadAnswers only answers the current gap; it does not set automaticGapsStopped, so the upload can raise another request. This violates the screen’s promise that every server request can stop the request loop.

Caretaker check at ecc7a57: a valid test gap, with no behaviour defect. ScanEngine.swift:1536-1565 holds analyzing, then done, before presenting, and UploadingScreen.swift:160-184 maps those to "Check clearances" and "Clearances checked". UploadPacingTests checks only the durations. If a test is added, it should watch upload.steps change between the two labels while screen.uploading is still showing, using a fast non-sample response, and shouldn't hold the upload artificially. Non-blocking.
Fixes #39
Fixes #31
Fixes #83
Part of #75 (the app half; the server half is a separate change)
Base:
t3/ios-mvf. Stacked on #49 (t3/gap-skip-continues). This branch merges #49's head, which includes the current base, and adds the commits for #31, #83 and #75 on top. If #49 merges first, this diff shrinks to those commits. If this PR merges first, #49 can be closed. What changed
Follow-up requests (#39)
#39's changes are #49's: "I can't get there" moves on to the next view, "Show my result" is on every server follow-up (below the tape at accessibility sizes), and a request that asks for a longer span or a farther reach is a new view. The reach is compared strictly, so 6.59 ft after 6.50 ft is new. See #49's description. This branch carries the same commits.
The upload screen shows "Check clearances" and its tick (#31)
The server answers in the same request that carries the scene.
upload()then set.analyzing, decoded the answer, set.doneand went to the result in one turn of the main actor, so an upload that goes straight to the result never drew that step. The engine now records when each upload attempt's bytes were sent (the base's snapshot loop can send again when the answer is stale). After the loop, it waits out the rest ofanalyzingMinimum(0.6 s) before.done. When there is no follow-up, it also waitsresultHold(0.8 s) before the spot check and the result. After each wait it checks the scan generation and the phase again. Both times are guesses, likefollowUpHold. The wait is computed byUploadPacing.remainingin HouseScanKit. The demo engine holds its final upload the same way.The result names the unexplored end nearer the meter than the spot (#83)
The notice "A closer spot may exist on the left" took its side from the first
past_endrequest, which the server always lists left first. It never compared that end with the spot.PlacementResult.closerUnseenEnd()now picks the end:The notice names where the scan stopped: "The scan stopped 1 ft 4 in left of your meter. A closer spot may be past there." Without a spot it says "A spot may be past there." The bundled
SampleResult.jsonno longer shows the notice: its spot is 3 ft right of the meter and its unexplored left end is 8 ft away.Gap cards name a server request's stretch by its ends (#75, app half)
Distance.aroundFromMeternamed a stretch by its middle, so a request over the whole wall read "Around your meter".Distance.rangenames both ends in whole feet: "from 4 ft to 34 ft right of your meter" or "from 13 ft left to 2 ft right of your meter". A server request is met only over its whole span, so the ends are rounded outward (RequestStretch.wholeFeetin HouseScanKit: lower end down, upper end up, within the server's 0.01 ft coverage tolerance) and never clipped to the wall's marked ends. A ground request can run past a limit end, and naming only the wall's part of it left required ground unnamed (review at5c15da8, fixed in5029039). Server, ground-out and walk-out cards use it. The phone's own short requests and overhead requests still name the middle. The guidance log records the same words as the card.UI changes
No captures: this was written on a Windows machine without a Simulator. CI's

CI runs are linked in the PR comments for each head. They cover:
swift test:ServerGapTests("2 more views to finish" shows only one view after "I can't get there" #39),RequestStretchTests(Ground requests driven by placeholder rules ask for 14–16 ft of ground nobody can show, and the copy misdescribes the span #75: run 2's request past a limit end, outward rounding),PlacementResultTests("A closer spot may exist on the left" shows after the left end was reached, or when the spot is already on the left #83) andUploadPacingTests(Upload screen sits on "Sending measurements, 99%" and skips "Check clearances" #31).The app build and the UI tests.
ScreenStatesUITestschecks:action.showResultandaction.skipGapongapRequest-followUp, both tappable, at AX5 after scrolling;FullFlowUITestschecks that a skip raises the next request and that "Show my result" ends them.No UI test checks that "Clearances checked" appears before the result. With the sample client the step reads "Sample ready", and the autopilot gates already hold the upload screen. The timing is covered by
UploadPacingTestsand needs a look on a device. The "A closer spot may exist on the left" shows after the left end was reached, or when the spot is already on the left #83 wording on a real answer needs a device.
