I want effects that would make combat more interesting and strategic, also relevant to #172.

Of course this is an incomplete list and I'm just collecting ideas for now.

Effect name Description
Fire progressively damages the player, combustible tools start losing durability when held, increases player speed slightly, makes the players input less precise and jittery, cancels out with frost
Frost slowly damages the player, decreases player speed including mouse sensitivity, it might also be worth trying to delay inputs by maybe 50-100 ms, cancels out with fire
Stun stunned players cannot act for a short duration, button events are ignored, stun can be avoided by having a conductive armor, a cooldown or stun resistance effect might be useful to avoid stun locking
Root rooted players cannot move, but they can still attack and look around
Blindness blinds the player. Not quite sure on the details, but blurring, darkening or reducing the field of view would be possible ways to handle this.
Enhanced Vision counteracts blindness, allows seeing dark blocks (If that's not too expensive it would be nice to show unlit blocks in grayscale)
Poison Slowly damages the player, counteracts all normal healing effects, prevents eating food
Regeneration Slowly heals the player
bleeding take damage over time
slowness slows the player
stomach ache cannot eat
