Resolves #2

Summary

This PR implements the Notion File Upload API v1/file_uploads with proper multipart support, fixing the issues described in #2.

Changes Made

Core File Upload Implementation

  • Upgraded @notionhq/client: From v2.2.15 to v5.19.0 to access the new file upload API
  • Correct endpoint usage: Now uses POST /v1/file_uploads (underscores, not hyphens) as specified in the issue
  • Multipart upload support: Implements multipart/form-data requests for the /send endpoint
  • Automatic mode selection: Single-part for files ≤5MB, multi-part for larger files with 5MB chunks

New CLI Commands

Added comprehensive onotion file command with four subcommands:

  1. upload <file-path> - Upload files to Notion with options for custom filename, content-type, and upload mode
  2. attach <file-path> <page-id> - Upload and immediately attach files to pages as image or file blocks
  3. status <upload-id> - Check upload status and progress for multi-part uploads
  4. list - List recent uploads with status filtering and pagination

Smart File Handling

  • Auto-detection: Images (PNG, JPG, GIF, etc.) are attached as image blocks, others as file blocks
  • Caption support: Optional captions for both image and file attachments
  • Flexible options: Custom filenames, content types, and force file-type selection

API Compliance

  • Uses the correct v1/file_uploads endpoint (fixing the hyphen issue)
  • Properly implements multipart/form-data for file sending
  • Supports both single-part and multi-part upload flows
  • Handles file upload completion for multi-part uploads

Testing & Documentation

  • Comprehensive test suite for file upload utilities
  • Updated README with detailed file upload examples
  • All tests passing (64/64)
  • Full TypeScript support with proper type definitions

Example Usage

# Upload a file
onotion file upload document.pdf

# Upload and attach to a page
onotion file attach image.png page-123 --caption "Project diagram"

# Check upload status
onotion file status upload-456

# List recent uploads
onotion file list --status uploaded

Fixes

  • ✅ Correct endpoint: v1/file_uploads instead of v1/file-uploads
  • ✅ Proper multipart/form-data implementation
  • ✅ File uploads now succeed instead of returning 400 errors
  • ✅ Uploaded files can be attached to pages without manual intervention
  • ✅ Comprehensive test coverage added

This implementation fully addresses the requirements in issue #2 and provides a robust file upload solution for the Notion CLI.
