Feature Request: Additional option for late penalty calculation

Use case: I applied the settings so that 20% are deducted for every 48 hours for upto 48 hours (effectively, if students are one second late or 48 hours, they lose 20%).

This results in a score for the students that seems to be equivalent to: max(student_score - deduction_if_applicable, 0)
What I had hoped it would do is: (student_score * (1 - deduction_if_applicable) ) .
So if a student would have scored 5%, they currently end up with a 0, while I had hoped they'd end up with 4%.

Maybe I there's already a setting that does this, but I couldn't find it.
So I am requesting this as a new feature.

@mishaschwartz I'd like to +1 this request. It would be an ideal setting for me as well.

We may want to somehow inform students on their view how the penalty is actually applied. Just a thought!
