Islandora Oral History Solution Pack Module Release 7.x-1.12
We are proud to cut the 7.x-1.12 release of the Islandora Oral History Solution Pack. This module supports the association of transcripts in XML and/or WebVTT format with Audio and Video files, and the display of timecoded text information in a viewer, where cues are highlighted as the media plays.
This module has been tested against the 7.x-1.12 version of Islandora and should work with this release, and with the Bartik and Bootstrap Business themes in both Chrome and Firefox.
Known Issues:
The following small issues have appeared from time to time in our testing. Each item in the list below is linked to the relevant Github issue. We welcome reports from others experiencing these issues. For a full list of issues, please see the issue queue.
- Under certain circumstances, there is some latency before audio starts playing when clicking the previous or next buttons. See issue #32.

- The side-by-side transcript and viewer display option has been deprecated and this feature has been removed from this release.
- Under certain circumstances, there is some latency before audio starts playing when clicking the previous or next buttons.
- Removed the
islandora_oralhistories_media_uploaded_typevariable (which in some cases was causing issues when regenerating derivative datastreams, as reported in issue 119.

This release mints a DOI for the Islandora Oral History Solution Pack Module project based off of release 7.x-1.9 and also fixes some typos that were identified post-release that may impact users running PHP 5.3.3.

- We have not successfully tested the side-by-side transcript and viewer display option and are seeking to deprecate this feature. If you are interested in this display mode, please contact us.
- A new feature supports native ingest of webVTT files in multiple languages. We have not tested this feature with multiple languages, and are not sure how the module would behave if more than three webVTT files are added.
