KDE Plasma

KDE Plasma is a popular and feature-rich desktop environment. It's more familiar, customizable, and light on resources than GNOME, more versatile than Cinnamon, and more modern than Xfce. Highly recommended for most users!
- Red-and-black theme (Matchama Dark Aliz), neon icons (BeautyLine), and a golden cursor (Breeze Amber).
- Keyboard shortcuts (note that Super is called Meta in KDE settings):

- A few keyboard shortcuts are also added to the terminal emulator Konsole to assist those accustomed to Terminator:

- Finally, the behavior of highlighting text by holding Shift while using numpad keys is adjusted to suit most modern users' expectations.
In addition to the default GDL software, the following packages are installed:
- Several standard KDE apps, including:
- KDE Connect for seamlessly connecting your PC and smartphone.
- Gwenview for viewing images.
- Kamoso for taking webcam pictures/video with various filters.

Discover for finding new (non-AUR) apps of interest. Installation and updates should still be handled via terminal (
pacman
oryay
).
- A handful of casual KDE games:
- To update your system, type
yayup
in a terminal. - If a game exhibits screen-tearing or other issues that might be caused by the window compositor, disable/enable compositing via Alt+Shift+F12.
