Batch systems files must be ASCII

All files that may be submitted in any form to the batch system must be ASCII to work properly on all machines. Currently, they are UTF-8 due to a special character in René. We might have to change this to Rene to get this working.

You could use iconv, but I am not sure if that runs in problems if there are non-ascii characters beforehand. So just use vim, replace the é with an e and it should be ascii.

I think if you replace them using vim, it converts them to ascii automatically.

If you write a small scrtip with the command iconv inside you can use our findAndDo in src/tools/bin.

The problem is that iconv -f UTF-8 -t ASCII FILENAME not work on hypnos. Iconv has Problems with my é ^^
You can check the encoding format with file --mime FILENAME

I will change all é's but I will only change the encoding for bash
script files (cfg, tpl, sh). Missed some?

OK with sed this is no problem.

Sry, at the moment I have no time to commit this script.

UPDATE: (only change cfg,tpl,sh)
for i in echo "*.tpl *.cfg *.sh" ; do findAndDo src/picongpu/submit "$i" convertToASCII; done
But not all bash script ends with '.sh'
