Global shutter (to avoid rolling shutter effect cause by vibrations)
Trigger (we need synced left and right images)
Focus control (auto focus likes to hunt for focus, destroying images. We want to control focus through software)
Color
To avoid blurriness we need fast shutter speed. That means we want enough light on the sensor. A small sensor is light, has large depth of field and requires small, light lenses. However it acquires less light and therefore has slower shutter speed.
