Root Cause:

  • Native HTML5 drag events conflicted with React DnD's event system when DnD components were introduced.

Fix:

  • Hoisted DnD provider up the component tree for proper context
  • Replaced native drag events with React DnD hooks
  • Maintained all drag functionality with proper ref management
