when opening the app: The application “Finder” does not have permission to open “(null).”

this is due to an issue with codesigning.
I resolved it with:
codesign --force --deep --sign - Meld.app

But I guess this should be solved on the developers side and not on the user side...

I need to chime in here. I have the same issue on my new M4Pro MacBook Pro laptop running MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1.

Thanks to the post from Patarok. I was able to launch the Meld app. However, once I tried to compare two (2) directories, the Meld app crashed.

Attached below are two(2) items.

1. A screenshot of the crash
2. A text file containing the entire Apple Crash Report

I hope this issue gets resolved quickly. Thanks to all who can help.

The codesign bit was not enough for me: I was then getting a prompt about Apple not being able to verify this file was safe. I had to go to "Privacy and Security" in the system settings and click "Open Anyway" to allow Meld to be opened.

@mzundo That is a different issue. This one do not run or start at all. It is prevented from doing so.
