Reconsider TIF and AI-Driven Threat Detection #86

Closed

Description

@vietthedev

Disabled due to suggestions from #74. These features rarely cause issues and boost users' security significantly. One HaGeZi list alone can't include too many entries of his TIF list.

NextDNS staff definitely read user feedback and take action if needed. They just don't give any response. Proof is that my recent request was resolved shortly after being posted. My recent comment which needed to be reviewed because it contains an external link was also reviewed. So the staff may have resolved false positive reports in their forum without responding.

    Another example of their action: https://help.nextdns.io/t/m1y1nbl/tanthanhdanh-vn-false-positive

    The domain I reported has been allowlisted.

    I agree with this issue request. Hagezi's lists that are recommended only partially include the Hagezi Threat Intelligence Feeds. Adding Threat Intelligence Feeds and AI-driven detection seems like a good idea. Additionally on the chance that you get a false positive (I haven't so far in years of using these 2 settings), you can simply add an entry in the allow-list, after all that is why the allowlist functionality exists.

    Re-enabled TIF. Still leaving AI Detection.

    Of course, a guide is just a guide. Do what's best for your setup.
