About Me

My journey to CS is kind of random. Back in college, I was studying German language and I couldn’t find the meaning out of it. One day, I was shopping at a super market and saw a yellow peach being thrown away simply because it had a black spot. “How many fruits were being wasted simply because they were imperfect?” I thought to myself. Later, the Ugly Fruit startup was born, to turn imperfect food into delicious products like Jam and Chips. I then got to learn about building websites, designing apps, starting my first YouTube channels, and now pursing a CS degree at Northeastern Seattle. All the projects I listed here are things that truly interests me and I believe would have a positive impact on someone’s life. One of my YouTube video “How to study when you don't feel like it?” has got over 22,000 views, inspiring people to stop procrastinating and take actions.

Where am I right now? I have finished my summer internship at Peloton and developed a micro-service from back to front. I feel like frontend is very straight forward, but backend is really the things that give the whole application the back and bones. I also know machine learning, AI is just a very hot topic right now, so getting some knowledge in that is important. I am trying to teach myself to do the hard things first. And if I ever look back on what I have written, I hope what I do does achieve these following principles:

  1. Do the things that truly interest you, and do it because it solves a real-life problem. If not, build something fun.
  2. Do the right thing, don't get pressured by time and visa.
  3. Do the difficult thing first.

Let's write down what I hope to achieve in 2024 and look back and see if they actually come true:

  1. Find 2024 spring / summer internships.
  2. Look for 2024 May new grad roles.
  3. Get back to dance practice.
