Dark/light mode switcher doesn't sync reliably with system setting

My system is in dark mode and I often find myself getting into the website in light mode.

I think it's because I previously set it as light mode and it's "stuck on that".

I think the switcher should either reset on every refresh, or, better yet, we should have a 'system' setting mode, like in Turborepo.
