Backspace key is deleting complete input content while filtering (select mode only)

Explanation

• What is the expected behavior?
  While filtering, if I press backspace (to correct the entered text) I would like the last character to be deleted, as in normal input text fields.
• What is happening instead?
  The complete input content is deleted
• What error message are you getting?
  No error
