Prefilter or Postfilter video files?

I am just curious to know if this method requires and Prefilter or Postfilter before BVP estimation is done? Looking at the code here and in pyvhr it seems like the input should only be the frames without any filtering or preprocessing?

Do u think it would benefit to do any filtering of the signals before the BVP is estimated?
