Describe the solution you'd like
As you are currently updating the Ship (character) sheet I wondered if it would be possible to integrate some rolls afected by both character skills/stats and also the ship's statistics. specific thoughts re for MgT2 and ship to ship initiative. rules state 2D6 + Pilot skill + ship's thrust score (also can be modified by effect from Tactics(naval).
In addition to this (but I think you already have it covered) the ability for characters to use skills during the ship to ship combat such as Gunner(turret); Pilot skill used to add DM to Gunner via task chain or used as a reaction to evade incoming fire (efect applied as neg DM to enemy ship)
