I’ve noticed a small UI behavior that feels a bit unintuitive: after audio stops playing, the peak level meters (VU meters) on all effects remain at their highest reading until the window is closed or the preset is switched. This sometimes leaves the impression that audio is still passing through, even though playback has ended.

Could the peak meters automatically reset to their minimum level a few seconds after playback stops? This would give a clearer visual indication that the audio stream is inactive.

Technically it is possible. But I think that every single level meter will need an extra code manually added there just for the sake of resetting its state. Considering how many we have if we look at all plugins it is quite a lot of work. I am not going to lie just thinking about it makes me feel tired already 😄
