cerebroViz is a data mapping tool for visualizing spatiotemporal data in the brain. The user inputs a matrix of data and the tool outputs publication quality SVG diagrams with color mapping reflective of the input data. cerebroViz supports 30 brain regions used by BrainSpan, GTEx, Roadmap Epigenomics, and more. cerebroViz depends on R (>= 3.3.0) and XML (>= 3.98-1.4).
The publication, 'cerebroViz: an R package for anatomical visualization of spatiotemporal brain data' can be found here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28011779/
cerebroViz can be downloaded directly through the repository on GitHub or within R with the following commands.
library(devtools)
install_github("ethanbahl/cerebroViz")
Alternatively, cerebroViz may be installed from source in the release folder of the GitHub repo at https://github.com/ethanbahl/cerebroViz/tree/master/release. If you do not have the 'XML' package installed, you will need to do that first before installing the source tarball.
install.packages("XML")
install.packages("path_to_downloaded_tarball")
The vignette can be accessed in R with the following command.
vignette(topic="intro_cerebroViz", package="cerebroViz")
