Overview

We need to define what features are part of the first BETA release and what are the use cases to help determine the release (e.g. what framework examples, integrations, does it support multisite etc)

As per our discussion with @colinmurphy, we've put together a roadmap for HWP Previews plugin.

Q2

Beta release on GitHub: End of June
WPE updater release: End of July

What will be included in Beta release

• Feature complete HWP previews plugin (expecting very little breaking changes from this point)
• GitHub Workflow release
• wp-env starter kit with WPGraphQL and pages router example in hwptoolkit
• PHP, JS unit testing
• E2E testing
• Essential usage guide/docs on plugin settings page
• Extensive docs on Readme
• Documentation for Faust users to explain how to use HWP Previews
• A Nextjs App Router example with REST API and Credentials Auth
• PHP Code Quality enforcement (psalm, phpstan, phpcs)

We also need to come up with a plan on how to communicate the release with the HWP Community.

Q3

Release candidate - End of September

What will be included in RC

• The updates based on beta feedback
• Potential branding updates
• Further reusability enhancement with more actions and filters
