LifeCam frame size can't be changed

The new LifeCam software prevents changing the frame size. Can be changed when uninstalling the bundled software, but then one can't adjust the other parameters anymore?

The Microsoft software of the camera messes things up a lot. Loading tons of dlls for fancy effects and face recognition and whatnot, may introduce additional buffering and prevents changing of the frame size. Annoying.
