Better scaffolding around internet searching for answers #10
Open
Description
Currently
- I emphasize searching for answers on the internet is good and right
- I mention which websites often give good answers
- I occasionally prompt in assignments and in lectures that it's a good idea to search
The problem
- I don't give many examples of how / under what circumstances to do this
- I give minimal guidance on how to look through pages to find an answer
- Not always clear what parts of a question should be known and which should not
Possible fixes
- Provide multiple demonstrations of how to look for answers in lectures
- Include a lab and/or questions in assignments that have a bunch of explicitly not-previously-learned things that need to be implemented.
