URL was http://localhost/~username/notes/

There seems to be a problem with the $path variable:

$path:                   /Users/username/Sites/notes/notes/index.php
CONTENT_DIR:             /Users/username/Sites/notes/
$url:                    notes/index.php
$_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"]: /~username/notes/index.php
